About this listing
Sealladh an Loch is a beautifully appointed, purpose-built holiday home on the south shore of Loch Ness. A stunning location and indescribable ambience, with views over the loch, mountains and forests.
The focus of the house is on light and space. All rooms on the ground floor lead off the central hall, with its vaulted ceiling and chandelier, glazed walls and double staircase.
The house has been designed to accommodate an extended family and has various communal areas - a large kitchen/diner, sun-room, cosy snug/TV room with wood burning stove & 5.1 point cinema surround sound system, and a glazed first floor gallery with views of the loch. The hub of the house is the central hall, with a full size snooker table.
It sleeps up to 12 adults in 3 double and 3 twin bedrooms. One of the twin rooms is on the ground floor with an en-suite shower room to accomodate elderly or less mobile guests. In addition, a cot is available for very young guests.
Outside space is provided by a first floor balcony accessed from the gallery, a front deck accessed from the snooker hall, and a large patio at the rear for barbecues. There are also gardens, which are kept as natural as possible, with a path up to a viewing point and bench at the rear of the property.
Guests will have exclusive use of the house and all its facilities, including a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, utility room with washing machine, drying facilities inside and out, free Wi-Fi, a cosy snug with 5.1 cinema surround sound & a log burner, and a central hall with full sized snooker table.
Interaction with guests
Our friendly housekeeper will greet you with a warm Scottish welcome and homemade scones and jam. She will then give you a guided tour of the house, and explain how everything works. She is a local lass, so if you have any questions about local facilities and attractions, she will be happy to help you. After seeing you settled in, she will leave you in peace to enjoy your holiday. If you have any problems during your stay, you will be able to contact her.
The peace, tranquility and ambience of the location cannot be described - it has to be experienced, along with views of Loch Ness, the mountains and the forests. There are several local woodland walks around the house, with wildlife including deer, red squirrels and pine martens. The village of Foyers is within easy reach, with a village shop & post office, a pub and the famous 'Falls of Foyers.' This side of Loch Ness is also ideal for cycling. Within 30 minutes drive is Inverness, or the tourist attraction of Fort Augustus, where various boat trips can be taken on the Loch.
A car is highly recommended, as the house is fairly remote. By car, the village of Foyers is only a few minutes away, and the City of Inverness 30 minutes. A bus service runs between Foyers to Inverness several times a day, plus local taxi services. Inverness has a mainline train station and an airport.

Sealladh an Loch is a family holiday home, which we built ourselves. Let me introduce the family.
My parents are Maurice and Alison, and they found the plot of land on which we built our beautiful home. Tragically, Mum passed away just as we were completing the project. Although we are sad that she is not here to enjoy it, we take some comfort in the fact that she was at least able to do the parts she was really looking forward to - putting the crockery in the cupboards. The bench and tree up the hill behind the house are in Mum's memory. We often go up there to talk to her.
My name is Sue, and by profession I am an Environmental Health Officer. I am responsible for the administration and day to day management of the house. I am married to Jeremy, who is a Quantity Surveyor. He project-managed the building of the house. We have 2 grown up children. Katy is a psychologist, and helps me out with the admin. Her partner, James, is an IT expert. He loves helping out with DIY, and we know we can rely on him for anything to do with wires or IT!. Our son, another James, is at University studying Sports Coaching.
My brother, Paul, is a businessman specialising in company acquisitions. He was an invaluable pair of hands during the build process, and is now pro-actively developing the business. He is married to Kisha, who owns and runs her own nailbar. She loves purchasing items for the house. They have 3 children, Alex, Jana and Joel, who will all be given duties in due course.
