The space

The second floor apartment is part of a traditional Edinburgh tenement and the property front door leads into a bright hall way with hanging space for coats and jackets. The large living room, with original wooden floors, offers outstanding views towards Edinburgh castle and has been comfortably furnished with 2 leather sofas, (one of which doubles as a sofa bed for parties of 3 or 4) and a pair of leather chairs all grouped around a large wooden coffee table. There is a TV and DVD player with free WiFi provided.

The kitchen is also very generously proportioned and has been well equipped with a gas hob and electric double oven, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle. It also offers a dishwasher and a washing machine.
There is plenty of china, glass, cutlery and cookware provided should you wish to cook in the apartment and a large dining table provides comfortable seating for up to 4 guests.

The bedroom is located to the rear of the building away from the road, the room also has original wooden floors, and working shutters on the window. It is furnished with a wooden double bed, two bedside tables and lamps, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers providing plenty of storage space.

A small shower room with a walk in shower, basin and toilet completes the accommodation.

We LOVED the flat! Great location. The castle views are amazing. The flat was cozy, clean and in the heart of the city. It was perfect being so close to Grassmarket and the Royal Mile. We will be back and we have recommended it to our friends who are planning to visit Edinburgh in the near future. Thank you for being such a great host!

This apartment is comfortable enough for 3 people. The bed had a good mattress, the living room has lots of seating with real furniture, and the kitchen is well-equipped. The bathroom is incredibly small, but there are mirrors in other parts of the apartment should multiple members of your party need to be getting ready at the same time. It was clean and ready for our arrival. Anabel was super nice and very informative when she let us in. There is a book of information about the apartment that is very helpful. It is well-located in terms of the Edinburgh castle, the Grass Market, and the Royal Mile. The immediate neighborhood is a tad bit seedy with a few strip clubs/bars up the block. There are big trash dumpsters directly outside the door to the building which, although probably unavoidable in a city, don't make your arrival very welcoming. The stairs to the apartment are steep and very worn, so hauling a heavy suitcase up and down the two flights is precarious. Check-out was super simple.

We had a wonderful stay at the flat! The rooms are big and bright and the flat is in an excellent location. Annabel is a lovely host, everything in the flat was efficiently managed and very clean. A binder of instructions was at hand if we needed any help and overall we had a great time. Thanks!

Great flat in a great location...just footsteps to the Edinburgh castle. The neighborhood had very nice shops around and a few convenience stores. The flat is beautifully decorated, well equipped and clean. Anabel is a great host, she was always available and helped me decorate the flat in advanced with with a cake, balloons and a birthday banner for my fiancé....that was a great gesture!

The Flat is great, with spacious common areas and an stunning view of the castle. It js located just a couple of blocks from the castle and the grassmarket road, one of the most places pf the city. The main room is big and with a lot of light. The kitchen is very spacious and has all the necessary. However, the sofa bed in the living room is not comfortable and the bathroom is quite small for four person. Finally, the hosts never answered our message during our stay because they work as an agency, so bear in mind if you need to contact them during your stay.

Response from Anabel:
Hi Florencia, I am sorry that we failed to pick up your message over the weekend. we run a small staff on Saturday and Sunday, and if you message via airbnb, it is possible that your message may be missed. We do supply telephone numbers in all our apartments for use over the weekend. You are right the bathroom is small, it is a one bedroom apartment with a sofa bed and is priced accordingly. I hope that you enjoyed your stay.
