The Bed & Breakfast i Bottai is a typical residence of a historic building of the 1600, it is situated on the first floor and it can be accessed by stairs or lift. The windows overlook Via San Frediano.

The space

The house is enriched by frescoes, brought to their original form by an accurate restoration. The choice of the décor has been meticulous, we retrieved antique furniture typical of the Tuscan artisans and from the jobs of our grandfathers with some small modern intruders.

The bedroom is a wide double-bed room which overlooks via San Frediano, besides the frescoes, its particularity is the headboard, which belonged to the grandmother of a dear friend of ours. To be honest, this piece of furniture saved the grandmother during the war protecting her from a sliver of a bomb.
The private bathroom is outside the room.

Guest access

The breakfast room is a wide fresco room of about 30 square metres. The furniture is very particular, the buffet counter is an original tailor’s counter while the seat is a church pew dating back to 1600. There is a bookshelf which is at the guests’ disposal. They can relax with a good book and a good glass of wine all the while listening to the sound of horse-drawn carriages, which take the tourists around the city.

Excellent communication. Incredibly easy check in/out process. Lovely communal area with unique furniture and this theme carries to the spacious bedroom and bathroom. Wonderful continental breakfast spread including fresh fruit, pastries and meats and cheese. The bedroom and the bathroom are divided by a corridor. The ceilings in these rooms are extremely high and finished at the top of the walls with glass panels. The glass looks lovely and is far to high to invade privacy but does allow a fair amount of noise through. It didn't affect our stay and we would definitely return but it might, but I can see that it might if their were other guests leaving early in the morning. No air conditioning which was difficult in the glorious Tuscany sun. Accommodation exactly as described and the reviews are reflective of the wonderful stay we had. Thanks for having us.

This B&B is very beautiful, very well positioned, with everything around. Breakfast was really splended. Only couple of things to adjust, that are, the window glass above the door let the light go through in the room if someone passes in the corridor or if there is light in the other rooms...really weird and annoying. The door downstairs is difficult to open with the key (but can be open with a code), and internet is sloooowwww (like everywhere have been in Tuscany). For that the price is for me slighly too high (but that is also the case in Tuscany for many places)!

Well what can we say. Absolutely echo all of the positive feedback of others. Eva is so lovely and goes out of her way to ensure everything is just perfect with your stay. The breakfast she provides is plentiful and delicious and full of fresh, local produce. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family.. Thanks Eva. Lots of love Kim and Andy x
