A past reviewer had commented that this place was even cuter than the pictures and it is true. Tiny perfection. We had celebration dinner reservations in Washington, VA and booked this place mostly so we didn't have to drive home after. Wish we had more time there. We'll certainly be back!

Wonderfully private remodeled cabin up in the mountains. The place was impeccably clean and tidy and beautifully decorated for a calming retreat.

We had a lovely time away in this beautiful cottage. We had everything we needed and Mary Beth was super accommodating when we mentioned we were vegan. I'd definitely recommend and come back!

We had a lovey weeked at the Evergreen B&B. The location is lovely, with great views and outside space. The cottage was clean and well equipped, the bed was very comfortable, the wifi came in handy (!), and we definitely would go back!

My husband and I were looking forward to our stay at Evergreen B&B, not only because of its close proximity to Shenandoah National Park, but also because of the high ratings it has received on airbnb. *Do not let the reviews fool you like they did us* Based on our experience, we honestly have no idea how it has received so many good reviews … it is the strangest thing. This was our worst airbnb experience ever. The 2 biggest issues were: 1. the cottage did not appear to have been cleaned recently, and 2. it had an overpowering, awful smell that seemed to get worse as our visit progressed (something like animal urine mixed with that moldy/musty smell that some old houses get when the windows are never opened). There were cobwebs with spiders, and other insects, all over the place, including in the kitchen (counters and shelves primarily), in the bedroom, and in the bathroom. I understand that a cottage in the woods would be prone to some insects, but at least a cursory cleaning would have removed the great number of cobwebs with spiders. Some of the dishes in the cabinets were dirty, and when we went to use the coffee pot the morning after our first night, it was full of old coffee from whoever had stayed there before us. The night stands were sticky and had marks from drinks previously placed on them without a coaster. The bathroom was definitely in need of a thorough cleaning - there was evidence of the previous people who had stayed there. It is quite obvious that this cottage was barely wiped down before we arrived, and I am appalled by that. When we returned to the cottage around dinnertime the next day, the bad smell was so overpowering that we couldn’t stand it. We opened windows, but that didn’t seem to help much. With the horrible smell and the fact that the cabin didn’t even feel clean, we ended up leaving early and did not stay for our second night. We were extremely disappointed, but decided it wasn’t worth the money to stay in an unclean, foul smelling cottage when we could just go home. Beware.

Response from Mary Beth:
Trista, I apologize for the problems you experienced and will see that the cleaning staff does a more thorough and complete job. They get paid to make sure everything is ready for guests. I guarantee it will not happen again and will check to make sure everything is the way it should be. Thank you for letting me know.
