Our three bedroom, three bathroom stone cottage was extensively renovated in 2016 to a high specification. It is nestled in a sheltered spot on a quiet road a short walk from Steephill Cove. It comfortably sleeps six adults and maybe a couple of extra children!
This is a great family bolt hole in one of the most beautiful and highly regarded areas on the Island. You can stroll to the beach, along the coastal path or meander into town. Being arranged on one floor, it's ideal for young families and we provide a cot, buggy and high-chair to make life even easier. All mod cons are included and the whole place was recently modernised to the highest standard.
You'll have the run of the whole house and garden. We'll give you keys - it's yours to use as your own!
As we have to let the cleaners and gardeners do their stuff, check in is from 4pm and check out at 10am, but please contact us if you have specific needs.
Interaction with guests
We'll leave you alone unless you need us. We'll contact you before you arrive, make sure that you receive keys and contact you to make sure everything was OK after your stay. If you don't need anything, you won't hear from us while you enjoy your holiday, but we will give you our contact details should you have any questions, concerns or needs.
Other things to note
We think we've got most bases covered. We developed this old cottage for us and did everything to a high standard. The floors are solid oak, the kitchen has all Neff appliances, a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. Satellite TV and wireless broadband are included. We also provide a cot, a buggy and a high chair free of charge.
Please just treat our house the way you'd like yours to be treated. Accidents happen and we're used to that (having young children of our own); we won't worry about the odd broken glass or scuff on the wall, but do ask that reasonable efforts to preserve the excellent condition of the house are made (like taking off outdoor shoes).
Married with two young children, I grew up on the Isle of Wight and spent my whole childhood living within a couple of miles of our holiday home. We now live and work in the city, but frequently return to let the children run on the beach and in the woods.
I'm a bit of a tech addict; I work with data and barely leave the internet alone, but I'm starting to rebel and re-establish my early 90's music collection on vinyl!
I travel on business a lot, so when we travel as a family, we look for a bit of a peace and quiet, but won't give up our creature comforts. We spend most of our spare time on the Isle of Wight. We love the beaches, the walks, the open space and the wildlife, plus there's loads to keep the family entertained. We've made it to a few more exotic places too, including safari in Kenya and India, indulgence in Dubai, culture in China and the open road in California. We also enjoy skiing and sailing.
