Beautiful setting, brilliant room, great hosts. This is the perfect place to get away from it all. It's clean, great attention to detail has gone into the room's design, and the land is gorgeous. Had a great weekend. Would definitely stay again.

Tranquility. Beauty. Rejuvenating. It was all that and more. Alexandra's place was even more beautiful than described. The studio was spotless. So much attention was paid to little details. Exquisitely decorated. The bed was very comfortable. Alexandra's property is like your very own private park with two ponds. We relaxed by the pool for the entire afternoon and even enjoyed the hot tube. Everything was perfect.

One of our favorite places to stay when we travel to see our son at USMA. So easy to check in & out, always clean, & host is always so gracious to offer help in any way possible! Wonderful place to relax and get away!

Alexandra is a great host and the place is exactly as described. We felt "at home" during those few days and really enjoyed our stay.

Alexandra and Suzanne were exemplary hosts. The grounds were absolutely breathtaking and everything was very well maintained. We couldn't have asked for better accommodations for our short weekend trip. We are hoping to return again one day to spend more time exploring the area.

We absolutely loved our stay. The place was close enough for a quick NYC getaway but secluded enough to make us feel like we were really getting out of town. The space is perfect for two people but I would not recommend bringing more than that. The grounds were amazing, the hot tub, the pool, and the backyard were beautiful. We had plenty of privacy and space and we loved being outside and enjoying the spring weather! We mostly cooked and ate in but there are some restaurants a bit of a drive away. I would recommend bringing a car if you want to do any exploring in the town. Definitely stay here, you will love it!

We do not understand who were all the people who left such glowing reviews of Alexandra's. It was hands-down our worst Air Bnb experience ever -- so unpleasant that we left after the first night and simply forfeited our two additional nights' fees, which we'd already paid. The "studio" was completely un-private. None of the windows were covered in any way, and whenever Alexandra's parents or anyone drove onto the property, their car lights flashed through the "studio", and my husband and I ducked for cover like some guilty teenagers (which we have not been for at least 15-20 years!). Beyond the fact that being 30-somethings in a stranger's un-curtained "spare room" wasn't our idea of a relaxing getaway, we found the following in the "studio": some grilled mystery meat in a foil tin in the fridge (along with a can of Coors Light and nearly-finished bottle of wine); no hand soap anywhere in the "studio"; and some empty Patron bottles and very pungent-smelling sponges in the kitchen sink (which we discarded). As soon as the sun rose on the second day of our stay, we made arrangements to leave for somewhere more private, comfortable, and pleasant ASAP.

Response from Alexandra:
Dear Joan, We would like to take this opportunity to apologize for what sounds to be a incredibly unpleasant stay, as we hold ourselves to a high standard of hospitality as reflected by all other, 30+ reviews. We truly regret our oversight of the "mystery meat" and unclean sponges for however uncomfortable they made you feel. In the case that we were notified of these and all other "issues" during your stay and not as you departed, they would have been rectified immediately and the remaining days would have been compensated. Airbnb is a community founded on communication and hospitality. If the former had been employed, the latter could have been upheld. To address the other issues that you found with our studio... We are located in a secluded area with no other houses or neighbors in sight. For someone coming from an urban area our tradition of curtain-less windows might seem strange, however this difference is advertised in our photos. We realize that this is something that not everyone is accustom to; to better meet the needs of a wider range of guests we will be installing curtains shorty. Beyond this, we make it clear to all guests that the studio, which includes a full bathroom, kitchen and living space with separate entrance, is part of a larger house. As for the Patron bottles, they are decoration and are clearly displayed as such. The hand soap was in a pink bottle in the bathroom. Dish soap could be found in the dispensary attached to the sink. Best, Alexandra and Suzanne To our future Airbnb guests, if you have any questions about the above review/response, please feel free to contact us directly! We are always happy to address any concerns or questions you might have!
