If staying in Probolinggo this place is ok, unlikely you'll find anything better for a cheap price. Basic facilities, Indonesian style toilet. It's a long walk to train station & becak (tuc-tuc) drivers will try to overcharge you or refuse to give you change so you pay more. Breakfast, just tea & toast, was nice. FYI you should have no reason to stay in Probolinggo. Arrive, go to Cemoro Lawang and stay there, climb Bromo and head on to your next destination that day. Note trains do sell out so book early.

Shamany was a super warm and super helpful host. He had gone on a trip with guests when we arrived, but the next day, he returned all tired and sapped of energy, but patiently sat down and explained to us all that we needed to know about the place - extremely helpful. His wife provided us with very nice vegetarian breakfast. The place is basic, with a very comfortable bed though I must say, and with a little improvement of the bathroom woulld be great for a short stay at Probolinggo on the way to Cemoro Lawang. Thanks Shamany, for all your help!

Shamany and his family are very friendly and nice people. They received us in their house and our room. The latter is quite basic but it has everything you need to have a good rest. They provide for room essentials, wifi and air conditioning. Shamany also provided for a nice restaurant called Alamy nearby the house that offers nice food even at little bit high prices. We had an early breakfast prepared from his wife and then he gave us useful information to move towards Mount Bromo and Banyuwangi. They are very respectful people and the neighbourhood is pleasant. Trust them and you will join the community!

Mr shamany and his family are very friendly people and their English is good. We arrived during a Muslim feast and he explained us a lot about it and took us to the sheep that stood near the mosk in order to be sacrificed the day after. He also invited us for dinner with the family. Unfortunately we had a misunderstanding about the meaning of the word "private tour" which in our opinion includes more than a taxy service, we expected him to be a guide on the vulcanos but unfortunately we were dropped off and he was waiting for us. Especially at the ijen, this was sometimes.pretty dangerous.

A Nice homestay. The wife's hote avake up early morning to made us a breakfast (3 am). He bring us to bromo the morning. He help us to find a transport. I don't give All conditions to walk in bromo (the condition to pay the entrers to bromo a lot expansive)
