This is one of the best places we have ever stayed. My girlfriend and I were there for a month and loved it. Lots of restaurants, coffee shops and food trucks around the neighborhood and several of them are easily walkable. Almost everything seems to have opened up in the last year or two as East Austin continues to grow hipper. The place itself was extremely clean and the kitchen is fully equipped for short or long term stays. The hosts were super friendly and helpful when needed. For runner, walkers, bikers - there are trails on both sides of the river that start about a half mile from the Airbnb and go all the way into town and beyond. It's great for exercising or for an alternate route into town if you have the time. We didn't use it but we did also find a bikeshare station about 15 mins away. You could start there and ride into town where there are lots more bikeshare stations.

An amazing find! Close to downtown!! It is a lovely guest home on a beautiful property, 10-15 mins by car to downtown Austin. The gardens are beautiful!! As you drive onto the property and walk down to the river you will find yourself in a little, hidden oasis. The guest cottage is very modern and very beautifully decorated. The pictures do not adequately convey how beautiful the home is. It has an amazing bathroom with cedar planks in the shower and a beautiful open kitchen / great room with brand new appliances. And the host was lovely and thoughtful. She even picked some flowers from her garden to welcome me to my temporary home! If I am ever back in Austin, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Great place. Very quiet and secluded from the city even though the city is right outside their gate. Great hosts and a beautiful setting.

I found the place immaculate and well-designed. Good if you like nature -- the site overlooks a wild stretch of the river, so take advantage of that and spend some time down on the rocky beach. The neighborhood is also good if you like a bit of industrial the texture -- sawmills, warehouses, street art. Bike-share station is about 10 minutes walk away.

We are biologists and naturalists and invite you to share our sanctuary on the river. When we're not out in Mexico doing field work, we're here tending our extensive garden.
