Only 30 km from Toowoomba, our little retreat is hidden among the gum trees near Hampton. Our spacious setting has a very relaxed and homely feel. The double room with its own bathroom and spa, overlooks the delightful rural setting with an adjoining room having a single bed available. A continental breakfast and free Wi-Fi are included in the nightly rate. Dietary requirements can be met with prior notice, so too an evening meal, the latter at an extra cost though.
If you are looking for peace and quiet and all the privacy you need, then here it is.
It is a delightful drive along the New England highway between Toowoomba and our retreat. We have a beautiful 20 acre property which is our rural getaway from the rat race. We have lots of gum trees and wildlife. Our home is spacious, with polished timber floors and large windows and verandahs to bring the outdoors up close and personal. Why not enjoy a lovely walk through our own newly planted rainforest? Or sit on the back verandah relaxing? No city noise, no traffic, just sounds of the bush and the bright stars at night make this a perfect hideaway from busy life. Our homely environment is very inviting. We invite you to share it with us.
Because we are off the beaten track, if you arrive after sundown please be aware there are no street lights :)
Guests are welcome to share our kitchen, lounge room and laundry facilities with us. Full use of the barbecue and Wi-Fi is available free of charge. Guests are most welcome to explore our property, including our garden, although it is suffering of late due to the dry weather and lack of time!!
We are happy to put a mattress on the floor for a child if needed.
An evening meal, mains and dessert can be provided if requested for a $20 charge, although we would like 24 hours notice please.
You are welcome to use our stove, fridge, microwave etc and of course watch our TV if desired.
Interaction with guests
We will meet you and make you feel most welcome. Privacy will be guaranteed however we will be available to interact with our guests as much or as little as requested.
Other things to note
We have chooks to add to our family!
Children are most welcome, if you are happy for a mattress to be placed on the floor:)
No smoking please. We expect guests to be courteous and respectful to our home and to us. Outside dogs are certainly allowed.
Lester and Lyn live on 20 acres in a peaceful and idyllic setting. Lyn works as a Director of a community based child care centre in Toowoomba, whilst Lester is retired and enjoys the quiet life on the property. We both love gardening and pottering around with our sheep, chooks and dog. We have had fun adding new elements to our property such as establishing the rainforest and building a tree house for the grandkids when they visit. In our spare time, Lyn loves to draw whilst Lester loves his woodwork. We are both looking forward to meeting guests from all walks life and sharing our little piece of paradise with you.
We love hearing about others' travels and their interests. We have recently travelled to Europe so enjoy hearing whether other guests have been, particularly in Australia. We love the Australian outback and finding about places to explore.
