Nestled in the treetops of the African bush with magical views over Marloth Park and Kruger National Park and the distant mountain ranges, this lodge is certain to provide an unforgettable experience. Majuli Tree Lodge is a brand new two-bedroom cottage on a raised platform incorporated around a living tree. Come eye to eye with a giraffe while sipping morning coffee or a well-deserved sundowner while experiencing the magic as the African sunsets directly in front of you.
This cosy home in the bush contains two well-appointed bedrooms, a bathroom, a living area and a fully equipped kitchen. New to the bush? To make this lodge extra special, there is also an outdoor open and sheltered braai and eating area on a raised secure deck, so no need to leave the canopy.
Positioned in the bush only minutes' walk away from the famous Crocodile River and Kruger National Park, you can while away the day listening to the grunting hippo and lamenting cry of the fish eagle which are recognized as the real sounds of Africa.
Wildlife is never far away and in the garden expect visits from zebra, warthog, kudu and the resident duiker, and become friends with giraffe feeding off the tree. Then as night sets in, experience the thrill as the big boys take over and relax in bed listening to the roar of the lion and the whoop of the hyena. If wildlife is your thing, this lodge is without doubt the place to be.
The lodge is entirely private and self-contained; guests do not share any facilities. It's yours alone, including the adjoining bush. You can then explore Marloth Park at your leisure or let us arrange a guided tour for you.
Interaction with guests
Dean and Maritza, our managers are only a phone call away to help with anything you need. They live close by so only minutes away and experienced in running lodges so knows what customers expect from their stay. If you have any questions or if you would like them to book tours, just let them know and they will sort it.
Other things to note
Although in the African bush, Marloth has safe game so there is nothing to worry about with regard to dangerous animals. We have plenty of experience in dealing with guests who are both new to the bush or experienced bush whackers so let us look after you and let our tree house captivate you.
There are no real hard and fast rules regarding the house. There are a couple of things to note though. You are in a nature conservancy though so no load music blaring in the evenings that will stop others enjoying the sounds of the African bush. Also when leaving the house, just ensure the windows are all closed as baboons seem to have a 6th sense for finding unoccupied houses and will get in to try and steal food. They are not dangerous but will cause a terrible mess.
If you have any questions please just contact me and I will answer them as best I can.

I am passionate about Africa. It was always a dream of mine to experience the African bush and I was very lucky to be able to buy a plot of land when visiting there one year. Not just any plot of land but one with amazing views directly on the river overlooking Kruger Park in a great little park called Marloth Park. I got a small cosy house built with a great deck making the most of the view. I try to visit as often as I can and when I can't I rent it out and share it with people. I have been approached by lodges and a hotel group looking to buy the house in order to build a larger lodge on the site but I found my piece of paradise and you cannot put a price on that in my opinion. I am delighted that I have made so many friends booking the house and now half of guests are returning visitors.
