The space

We are are located 6 mins walk to Ringsend Village where there is a supermarket, pubs and restaurants. Beside the 3Arena, and the Aviva Stadium, the apartment consists of one large room with large sofa bed (king size) and one small single room and a shower room. (When 4 people stay we bring in a single bed to the large room with the king size sofa bed)
One of the rooms has its own door to a small garden. (Ideal for smokers). This room has WIFI, a washing machine, cooker and microwave, and tea and coffee making facilities and a big fridge freezer and also a sink and a hob. The large sofa bed (king size) sleeps 2 comfortably. The other room is a small single room (sleeps 1)

Beside the 3 Arena (12 mins walk) is a Multiplex Odeon Cinema and the Ringsend Park amenities at the back of our house, include public tennis courts and football pitches. We sometimes see squirrels in the trees!
Hot water is heated by solar panels. The large windows in the bigger room give you a wondorful sunset in the summer evenings. From this room you can see the lights of the Aviva Stadium in the distance. The walls are covered in some of my own Original paintings.

Guest access

Only one stop from the Airport, you can get the 747 (1stop) to our place every 20 mins. 747 bus costs 10euro return from our house to the airport! Dismount at 3 Arena (make sure to tell bus driver) and walk over the East Link bridge. (Our place is a 10 minute walk from 3 Arena). It is possible to take a LUAS (light rail) directly from our apartment to the Guinness Storehouse, Kilmainham jail and the Modern Art Gallery. The Jameson distillery is also on this same line. This is a truely uniqe location close to everything Dublin has to offer. Come and go as you please with your own private entrance to this apartment (only 20 mins walk to Trinity College)
Our unique position in Dublin Port beside the River Liffey and the East Link Bridge makes it easy for our guests going to Holyhead as parking is available in our driveway and the Irish Ferries/Stena Line terminals are a mere 10 mins drive away.
In Ringsend village the 47 bus or number 1 bus will have you in the city centre in 10 mins and the luas (light rail) takes you from 3 Arena into the centre aswell every 8 mins.
We are right beside the Port Tunnel (5mins drive) which means you can access any of the major roads to bring you anywhere in the country with ease including the M50.

Interaction with guests

We are very laid back and just want people to feel comfortable and relaxed in their own private space. Any questions about anything are welcome any time of day so just call me on my mobile. If we don't see you once you have checked in that's fine too!

Other things to note

Check out is at 11am

Late night check ins are fine with us once arranged in advance.

The second bedroom is very small but very quiet at all times.(great for jet lag) You can see the space available in the pictures.

We have a very friendly Spaniel called Sophie.

Trinity College is 20 mins walk away. There is also a fantastic walk along the river Liffey into O'Connell St,(30mins). Half way there, there is a big boat called the Killairne stationed on the Liffey and they serve great bar food and tea or coffee or, of course, beer etc. Downstairs on the boat is a more expensive restaurant. On the upper deck in the evening is the best place in Dublin to catch the sunset! Its a great stop off point if you want to break up the walk into the centre of Dublin.

We had a lovely stay at Penny's place. The place has everything you need and is nicely decorated. We travelled by car which we could park directly in front of the house (it's a bit further from the centre, but there is a bus that leaves closeby). Penny and her family are nice and helpful.

Despite us not actually meeting, Penny was a first class host. Her communication beforehand was very good and the apartment was easy to find and exactly what we were expecting. The apartment was exceptionally clean and comfortable and just large enough to accommodate us as a family of four. There wete also nice little touches from Penny like providing fresh milk and suggestion boards with public transport details and places to go. I would highly recommend.

John and I have lived in our home in Ringsend for over 20 years. We love Ringsend for its central location and the city has in recent years come towards us as development of infrastructure has increased. Nowadays we can take lightrail (10 mins) or buses or the dart to the city centre or indeed walk. (30 mins) Our urban house is surrounded by 2 gardens front and back. We have fruit trees including plum and apple so please feel free to eat the fruit off the trees. We have lots of rhubarb aswell at the moment. The Airbnb accommodation available to guests is attached to the side of our house with its own separate entrance. John and I both know a lot about Dublin and love eating out, going to the cinema/theatre and walking and cycling and swimming in the sea! (my husband even swims in the winter). I love anything to do with art, particularly abstract and we both really like good design and architecture. We have a very friendly dog called Sophie. We love to travel and I speak good French and my husband speaks good German and a little Dutch and our kids speak some Spanish!! We are very easygoing hosts! Just call us if you need anything at all during your stay with us. We really do know Dublin well and are happy to help with any questions at all that you might have to help make your trip run more smoothly.
