Our ground floor 2 bedroom apartment is very popular as it is safe for young children and really comfortable also for mature guests as there is a lift to the apartment from the garage block. To just unwind and relax can be achieved here in this peaceful green zone close to Burriana beach & supermarkets.
Many guests are returners who often return for short term lets in the autumn to spring time and this apartment is particularly suitable for this time of the year because of the sun position.

The space

Our apartment Aljamar 4 is housed in one of the most elegant gated Edificos in Nerja. It has a garage space and a lift to the apartment which is actually on the ground floor. There is also a walkway to the apartment The full apartment is available to you along with the garage space. This Edificio also benefits from being in a green zone and the terrace is on the right size of the zone for the sun which adorns it from early afternoon to dusk. The WIFI is provided free of charge - however guests are requested to pay for the electricity used during their stay. We provide sun loungers for the terrace and for taking to the community swimming pool and/or beach. It is particularly suitable for parents with young children as it is on the ground floor with a walled terrace and a gated walkway entrance to the apartment block and also to those who ideally would like a lift which is accessed from the apartment block garage below where the dedicated parking space is no 14.

Guest access

All the apartment is available to you. In fact as the owner I used to live in this apartment but I met my husband who also owns another property in this Edificio and so this is why we rent it out. We will send you on your personal email local information which we hope you will find useful including recommendations of where we like to eat - good quality home cooked food at an economical price. My Spanish husband Felipe is head of one of the most respected business families here in Nerja and so you can be assured of our honesty and very good reputation for looking after our guests.

Interaction with guests

There is a dedicated wifi system in the apartment - so not a shared one so you can contact us by email at any time from initial contact to departure. Referring to local information available we can send samples of this by email prior to arrival - all information sheets are printed and housed in the local information booklet in the property. You will receive our contact telephone details once you have paid a deposit and we will provide you with our administration email address too so that you can always be in contact with us if there is an emergency or you need our help during your stay or at any time.. At this time we can offer to arrange for our local taxi team (comprising father and son) to collect and deliver you back to the airport or we can put you in touch with Felipe's family car rental company and this too is a great service as the car is delivered to the airport for your immediate collection on arrival and your deliver it back to the airport when you leave. We can also supply most items for babies and young children. Our entry and departure times are flexible but if we have guests arriving on the same day as guests leave then we request that the apartment is vacated at 10 am to allow for cleaning.

Other things to note

The two local supermarkets Mercadona (great for fresh fish) and SuperSol (great for fresh meat) are within easy walking distance from the property and if you do not hire a car there is a bus stop nearby which can take you to visit the nearby and famous Nerja Caves and also the famous Arabic mountain village of Frigliana. The swimming pool is usually open from before Easter to November time - 10.00 to 20.00 hours. For large group travellers or those who are celebrating a wedding or other party then we do have two further properties at this Edificio. Our huge apartment 5b which can easily sleep up to 6 persons and our villa 8a which can easily sleep upt to 8 persons. Both are advertised on this website and we can provide more information of all our properties on request including the two in centre of town. We provide fresh linen and towels on entry including beach towels. If you are staying for a long stay we will provide a further set on request or at an agreed time.

We stayed at the Nerja apartment for 6 days in September 2017, for $700+. Marion is a very friendly British lady, forthcoming, and always eager to help. We enjoyed our stay at their Nerja home very much. Communication was outstanding. Getting there was easy. We used "Waze" navigation app, which worked perfectly. The apartment is about 5min from the Nerja caves. You can reach downtown Nerja by first walking down the beach an then up again, which takes about 30 minutes. The home is exactly as described, including the very clean and enjoyable community pool. Everything was clean, tidy. The bathroom was clean, too. The girlfriend liked that. There are two very efficient air conditioning units that can cool the place done within minutes. The terrace is also nice. Burriana beach is about 10 min by walk. It's an easy downhill walk, but feels "steep" walking abck after a long day at the beach. Doable though. Parking was excellent as there was a garage behind the barrier. We loved having the car "right there". We felt very safe at all times. Me being 191cm tall, I did not fancy the double bed's size (180x140cm). It was awkward and we didn't sleep that well. So if you're tall, you need to maybe sleep in the single beds. The kitchend was fully operational. One more thing: The host intended to charge us extra for electricity (0,30 per kWh?), which we did not pay. AirBnB is an "all inclusive" service, meanign there is and cannot be any additional costs other than what you pay through the during booking.

You are mst welcome to return at any future time and please remember we have another larger apartment Aljamar 5b and also the large villa Aljamar 8a in this Edificio. It is quite common for electricity to be charged as an extra and unlike many other hosts as we have installed meters in the properties the voluntary charge only amounts to the guest usage. We make no profit from this. Consider this - in the winter months especially this is important and I will take this matter up with Airbnb. Best wishes to you both

We had a great stay. The location is fantastic - quiet but a short walk to Burriana and Nerja! The pool area was fantastic and very family friendly. Marion's communications with us were first class and we appreciated the effort of providing a cot/high chair and toys. Parking is a real bonus and made it easy to load/unload with a baby on board.

We loved it here in Nerja at Marion's place. It was very close to the beach and all the restaurants. Nerja, nestled between the mountains and the sea, is a wonderful city for vacationing. It has many options for eating and shopping, but still feels secluded. Marion took care of everything we needed and was just a phone call away if we had questions. Highly recommended!

I spent three weeks in Nerja with my fiancée and our son of 10 months, this area is quiet and we were supplied with both cot and babychair, which was great. The apartment lies quite high above Burriana beach, bring good shoes! close to big supermarkets like "Mercadona" and "Supersol" ( 5 minute walk) The patio is sunny from lunch to sundown and with a nice view of the town. Marion was a super great host and met us upon arrival, she also made all the arrangements during our stay to make our trip as good as possible. We are very pleased with our stay!

The apartment was as shown in the pictures. The decor is tired and could be updated. Marion's communication prior to arrival was first class and there were some very useful parts of the apartment e.g the garage, swimming pool etc. Marion also provided high standard baby equipment for our young son. During our stay we had an ant problem and the standard of cleaning of some parts was low but Marion is addressing this and was grateful of the honest feedback.

good afternoon thomas and thank you for your review. It was extremely hot when you were in Nerja - probably the hottest period of the year and this was probably the cause of the ants. When you left the temperature was lower and when our regular cleaners went to clean the apartment on the morning you left there were no ants. Our regular cleaners are now back in operation and I apologise for the low standard of cleaning by the casual cleaner but I take full responsibility for this and it will not occur in the future.

Marion and her husband Felipe made us feel very welcome. They did some groceries for us so we had a nice lunch when we arrived and Marion explained everything about the house and Nerja. The apartment is located in a nice neighbourhood: friendly and very quiet. We really like our stay here and in Nerja!

My husband is Spanish and between us we rent out 4 elegant properties in great locations in Nerja. We are particular in making sure our guests are well cared for from time of booking to leaving and can offer to arrange transport to and from the airport for you. We like to think that our properties are equipped and kept like our own home - comfortable and well looked after. I am English are we met each other at Residencial Aljamar where we both own properties now which we rent for holidaymakers. Many of our guests regularly return for longer lettings especially in the winter months and we have hosts guests from far afield looking to escape their own harsh climates to live in harmony here in the wonderful "Carribian" climate that Nerja offers all the year round. In fact Nerja itself is one of the best kept secrets of Spain for relaxation and being unspoiled - it is still a typical working town. I am English so we can respond very easily to English and Spanish speaking guests.
