Other things to note
Flagstaff is amazing! We have lots to explore. Downtown has a variety of dining experiences, eccentric bars and brewing companies, coffee houses, galleries, shopping, and live entertainment. Northern Arizona University, Lowell Observatory, The Museum of Northern Arizona, The Pioneer Museum, The Orpheum, The Riordan Mansion, Coconino Center for the Arts, and Theatrikos are all a short drive 3-10 minute drive from our location. The hiking/biking/running opportunities are endless! These include: our Urban Trail System, Buffalo Park, Snow Bowl, the San Francisco Peaks, Sunset Crater National Monument, Sedona (45 minutes away), and the Grand Canyon herself ( 72 miles away)! We also have many archeological sites nearby such as Walnut Canyon, Wupatki National Monument, and Elden Pueblo. The choices for other day outings include The Navajo Nation, Hopi Land, The Petrified Forest, Meteor Crater, Rock Art Canyon Ranch, and the famous La Posada in Winslow, Arizona built in 1929.
Flagstaff also hosts events such as Art in the Park, Pride in the Pines, monthly First Friday Art Walks, rodeos, pow wows, and music, beer, science and film Festivals, and so much more. Something is always going on!

My husband, Scott, and I have been in the Healing Arts field for over 25 years. We live intentional lives. We are not afraid of rolling up our sleeves and jumping into life. We have raised two amazing girls. We were founding parents of our local Waldorf inspired charter school. We have created an urban homestead with an organic garden and chickens.
I am really into the nutrient dense, properly prepared whole foods. We make our own bone broths, Kvass, Kombucha, sauerkraut, sprouts, and, of course, we built this studio apartment ourselves. Scott is also an artist. He finds that life is his canvass. He has expressed his artistic self through sewing our girls their own footy pajamas, cooking his famous "sunset" meals (never to be repeated), and creating fine art oil paintings.
What can I not live without, travel! My father tried to talk me into dropping out of high school to send me around the world traveling. I was born in Mexico and have traveled extensively throughout Mexico. When I was thirteen I traveled, with two older sisters, throughout Europe for three months. We mostly camped and met a lot of people. I have been to Central and South America and across the South Pacific. Once we had kids, I realized we had to keep figuring out ways to afford to travel. Besides camping we have stayed in KOA's, Youth Hostels, International Seafarers Inns, in people's homes in Costa Rica and, of course, our Airbnb experience. I love the non-traditional. I love immersing into the culture of wherever we are by using local transportation and mingling with the locals.
What else can I not live without, nature! Nature is where we go to recharge. Northern Arizona is just magical. I call Flagstaff our "base camp". We have so much unique natural beauty within an hour's drive in any direction you travel. Also, in six hours we can be at the beach in Mexico, or if we head north, the heart of the Rocky Mountains or the Canyonlands of Utah. We have space to explore who we are at our cores out here in the American Southwest. And, if we need an airport, we have that too!
We did Imogene Pass Run once again in September! It was my forth and Scott's third. It is a 17.1 mile race from Ouray, Colorado to Telluride, Colorado. We summit at over 13,000'. I am proud to say that we (the entire family) all made it up and over last year!! This year it was just Scott and I. We both shaved off time once again. We were very pleased with ourselves. It was a glorious day :-)
We are constantly exploring what it means to have a meaningful life. One thing we have learned is that we just have to keep showing up and trust.
We have been booking up quickly with amazing guests. Contact us soon to reserve your bit of paradise with us!
