Casual elegance in a peaceful and lovely rural setting. Warm and inviting old country farmhouse surrounded by fruit and nut trees and a garden full of flowers. You might enjoy feeding llama Flash an apple or chuckle at Veronica clucking her way about the flower beds. Or snuggle under the down comforter in your spacious and light filled bedroom while listening to the birds. A short stroll to the corner and you can mingle with Vashon as you sample their fresh coffee.
Vashon Island rural retreat. 1903 Farmhouse with fruit and nut trees on an all organic property. Close to town, restaurants and shops and the bus line. At the corner is the Roasterie for coffee, tea, breakfast goodies and sometimes music.
**A note about pricing when comparing to other listings - my $10 cleaning fee is much less than most other places and I do not charge a pet fee. **
The downstairs bedroom is very spacious and full of light. It faces the front. Upstairs is a smaller, cozy bedroom with windows on two sides. This can be rented for those traveling together. It faces the back garden. Both have super comfortable queen sized beds with down comforters. The bathroom is located downstairs and is only shared if both bedrooms are booked by a family or friends. Normally, only one bedroom is booked at a time.
Bailee, the cocker spaniel in residence, wriggles her delight at company. Flash, our friendly llama, is more aloof, but loves greens from the garden or an apple from the nearby tree. There are several "protected" large and unusual trees on the property including a wonderful mulberry, fig trees, walnut and hazelnut trees.
Walk down to the Roasterie for fresh brewed coffee or tea and bring it back to the deck to enjoy while you listen to the birds or watch the sheep in the pasture.
WiFi is included, but there is NO television.
This is a peaceful, quiet, environmentally respectful farm and we welcome all like-minded individuals.
Vashon has many artists, musicians and organic farmers and a terrific sense of community. Saturday Market is a fun event during the warmer months and there is almost always an activity to enjoy whether its local theater, music, art walks, bike riding, kayaking or just stepping away from the hustle and bustle in nature's refugium.

Interaction with guests
Since I live in the house as well, I am usually around to answer questions or offer suggestions for activities and Island resources.
Other things to note
The upstairs room is part of the original farmhouse and up a somewhat steep flight of stairs which makes it not suitable for small toddlers or those with physical limitations - sorry.
Please, no smoking. We are a "No Shoes" inside house. Pets accepted with prior approval only. My home is not child-proofed, but I am open to talking with you about small children who are "responsibly watched."
