Rural setting just off the Southern edge of Dartmoor and well located for the South Devon Coast.
The Honeypot is very well equipped with free wifi. All you need to look after yourself in comfort plus a lovely village pub down the lane.
Private (detached) - peaceful - clean and simple - ample parking & room to wander.

The space

Peaceful setting in 6 acres of land. Your own private bit of space to relax and just a short stroll down the lane to an old Inn (1028AD) - one of the oldest in the Country. Fully equipped for home comforts - wifi now included.
We have replaced the fridge freezer in the chalet with a larger quieter fridge - if you need to store frozen items in a freezer please just ask.

Guest access

Feel free to wander the grounds, use the BBQ etc. We are wildlife friendly and not a commercial farm so no monoculture - you are in the Countryside.
Please do not enter the barn as hazardous equipment etc is stored within.

Interaction with guests

Please just ask if you need anything or need help during your stay. If coming by train or plane we may be able to assist you from Exeter Airport, or Exeter, Newton Abbot, Totnes (nearest) or Plymouth train stations. The X80 bus between Plymouth and Paignton stops 1/2 mile away on the A385 at Rattery Mill

Other things to note

We no longer have bees on site. This is a working small holding and our barn is a potentially hazardous area with farm equipment and chemicals. For your own safety please do not enter the barn unless accompanied by us. Thank you.

A well looked after chalet with lovely hosts! Milk, weetabix, tea and coffee was left for us on arrival, and other than a brief greeting we were left to our own devices. The chalet had all the mod cons, and was surprisingly easy to find, and it was only between 20-40 mins away from all the tourist attractions and Plymouth/Paignton. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone!

Our stay at The Honeypot was absolutely wonderful, Steve was incredibly friendly and helpful. The place was very private, clean and spacious. Surrounded by the lovely wilderness it was truly a great place to stay, very relaxing and the cottage contained everything we could have hoped for. A great value for money. We would really love to stay again! Thanks Steve!

Response from Steve:
While a car is often the preferred mode of transport for folks staying in rural locations we do have walkers and cyclists stay with us and say that a car is not required if you do not wish to use one. Many guests come by car then leave it here while they tour by bus, cycle or walk. We are very convenient for Dartmoor and National Cycle Route 2 is just 300m away from our door. Totnes mainline railway is 5 miles from which there is a bus service and a stop approx. 1 kilometre away. Coach services stop at Totnes and the Falcon service stops on the A38/A385 at Marley Head. We also have a great local pub just a short walk down the lane. No car? - No problem!

The perfect base to explore Dartmoor in a pretty village with a great pub. Steve's place is quiet, comfortable and has everything you need. Thanks Steve for the friendly welcome and for providing such a great place to stay!

I have formerly served front line in both the Police Force and Emergency Ambulance Service. These days I am a landlord and run a small farm in Devon.
We are a family of 4 with 2 small dogs and often have pigs and chickens on the farm which is mainly woodland, orchard, soft fruit and veg. I am also a beekeeper - and the name Honeypot is apt as the chalet doubles up as the Honey Extraction House towards the end of summer.
The farm and this area of the World really give you a 'feel good' factor and we like having our regular guests back again and again and seeing them enjoy themselves.
