Tana thoughtfully left us a card, biscuits and wine as a welcome, which was a lovely gesture and the information about the house and local area provided was invaluable.

This is a cute, clean and comfortable cottage, and Tana is a delightful and helpful host who went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. The cottage is perfect for families with children (or grandchildren, like us), since Tana and Simon have two young children of their own, and the house is not just child-proof, but child-happy! The children's bedroom has bunkbeds and a spacious play area, with lots and lots of toys and games. Outside there is a little playhouse and a trampoline. The other two bedrooms are also large and comfortable. The house is in a cute little village called Portobello, an easy 20-minute bus ride to the center of Edinburgh. It is just a few blocks from the beach, and a nice promenade there with several delightful cafes and pubs (the Espy!) along the waterfront. The house is just off the village's High Street, with shops and groceries within a few minutes walk. Tana was SO friendly and helpful, from the very earliest email exchanges until after we arrived. She provided us with a stroller (for the littlest one) to borrow while we were there, and even lent us some clothes for the children when the weather was a little chillier than we expected. There was a welcoming bottle of wine, tea and shortbread for us when we arrived. Tana kept in touch with us by email after we had settled in, just to make sure that everything was ok. The whole experience was delightful: a wonderful introduction for our visit to Scotland. Thank you so much, Tana and Simon, for sharing your house with us! The whole experience was a

The house was amazing . We had a really lovely holiday in Tanas home. It was clean and had everything we could possibly have needed. The house is big and airy feeling. The children loved having new toys to play with! Location wise it was perfect - a stone's throw from high street and a very short walk to beach. The neighbourhood was very quiet and lovely neighbours.

Thanks Duncan and thanks for the sweet notes and little sheep you left us. We hope your journey home was good x
