Perfect for one and cozy for two.

In a wonderful central location, but just outside of the main centre of Fremantle, the space is a semi self-contained and peaceful retreat in a tranquil garden of our family home. It is a beautiful, light space to relax during the day and a secure, cozy place at night.

Wake up to a pretty garden outlook and listen to the birds.

Everything you need is right there in this bright, happy space.

Please note:

This lovely room shares the bathroom with the main house, and also has access to it's own rustic backyard "dunny" (toilet).
For both of these you must walk outside.

The room does not have a kitchen, but DOES HAVE a toaster, kettle and microwave.

And finally... this is a family home. We always treat our guests with the greatest respect and it is rare that we have much engagement with guests...unless they would like it! But you do need to be at ease with a homely family vibe.

Guest access

Guests have their OWN ENTRANCE, through the rear garden gate at the end of the driveway, and will find their room behind our home (a heritage listed limestone cottage).

IN THE ROOM (13sqm)
There is a
double bed/day bed,
flat screen tv,
dvd player and dvds,
Free wifi, fridge,
kettle (with tea coffee sugar, milk)
and mircowave,
Crockery and cutlery etc
Maps and guidebooks
Air Con
Table and chairs
books, games...
and a garden view.

We would love you to enjoy relaxing in the garden. There is a guitar and ukulele we are more than happy to lend you as well.

Guests have access to the home's bathroom, a few steps away and just inside the back door of the main house. There is also a heritage listed back yard dunny! (toilet) near your room for your private use. (Please be aware that you must exit your room and walk outside for a few steps to both of these facilities)

My home has a very long driveway - perfect for your car and street parking is free and plenty of it.

Interaction with guests

Your room is your semi private space behind my home. The garden is is yours to share and enjoy also.

Whilst I work from home most of the time, I am very happy to leave you in peace and respect your privacy if that is what you after. Equally happy to have a glass of wine and a chat, if I have the time and that is your thing.
Whatever, I am never far if you need, or want to know, anything!

Our "chingo" (Chihuahua crossed with a Dingo) Heath may really wish to be your friend, and may visit you from time to time.

While you will mostly have the garden to yourself, guests need to be aware that this is a family home and there are occasionally children about after school hours and weekends. So, while we will be very respectful of your space and want you to be happy here, you do need to feel at ease with a homely family feel whilst staying here.❤

The neighbourhood

I have lived in various parts of the world and I love South Fremantle for its relaxed vibe, the interesting creative people that live here, it's proximity to the beach and places to eat and drink. I have always felt so at home here...

You might wish to start your day with some yoga nearby or meander past cafes and grab a coffee and breakfast on your way to beautiful white sand and the crystal clean water of South Beach. Dolphins and even seals are regular visitors near the shore.

Later head into Historic Fremantle for the arts, festivals, music, some historic tours, museums and more restaurants, cafes and bars and pubs.

Want to leave Fremantle? Easy jump on a train to take yourself to the music and bars of North Fremantle, fabulous beaches of Leighton and Cottesloe (west coast sunsets are the best), shopping in Claremont, the footy in Subiaco, the galleries and museums and nightlife of the city.

Getting around

Public transport is so easy and free in South Fremantle. - Cat Bus routes are fantasic...just (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) it.

It is a quick walk, bus trip or bike ride into Fremantle. Bikes are easy to hire and i can point you in the right direction.

Trains and buses are plenty if you want to traverse further a field.

Other things to note

At present this accomodation is available to women and couples. Children are also welcome.
Cute furry friends sometimes welcome too.

Great place to stay! Lovely and clean and there is a great cafe and Italian just down the road in case you'd rather not make the trip into central Fremantle! 10/10, thank you Alison!

Clean but the toilet is located outside of the room so you'll have to access it through 2 doors. Restaurants and cafes nearby allowed alot of convenience for breakfast joints

Response from Alison:
Hi Kate It is very important to me that guests understand what our accommodation is all about. You will find that I have made all information about access to all amenities very clear in my description. :) This is a friendly family home and should be enjoyed in light of what comes with that. I am very glad you enjoyed your stay and wish you had made the comments about your enjoyment in the public rather than private comments section :)

Alison's house is within walking distance to food and cafes. And vegan ones too! We were happy with that

Response from Alison:
Thank you for taking the time to review the studio. It is disappointing for me to get a review such a yours and thankfully they are rare. However, I always take time to reflect on guest feedback so that I can make improvements if necessary. I can see you have you given the accommodation 3 stars. And I would like to say on behalf of all AirBnbers that It is important to remember when reviewing any accommodation that it is done within the context of what was offered. This accommodation is not a five star hotel nor seeks to be. The cost is minimal to stay here and I have described this accommodation in detail so that people know what to expect. Everything in your room is new, this includes paint on the walls, bedding, matress, carpets. My experience travelling has shown this to be hard to find in any hotel unless it has recently been refurbished. Given that most of my guests provide this accommodation with 5 stars I will not take your harsh review to heart. alison

Really a good studio for couples! Nice host, very kind and warm. Takes about 25 mins to fremantle. You can enjoy the scene during your trip. People in the town are just as nice as the host. We do recommend Ali's studio to all tourists in Fremantle!

If you want to explore Fremantle and/or Perth or take a break before catching the ferry to Rottnest Island, Alison's place is perfect as it is located walking distance to Fremantle's main streets / attractions / restaurants and very close to the ferry departing to Rottnest. The room is a very cosy stand-alone annex so you will enjoy a lot of privacy as well. Greatly recommended!

Ali's place was great and so easy.. Ali was a lovely host. Her place is a walk from everywhere, yet in a nice quiet neighbourhood. We had everything we needed.. The free bus around the Freo circuit is great, short walk to the local supermarket, beach, cafes and Fremantle markets too.. great value for money

This was a great little getaway retreat from the hustle of the busy fremantle strip, yet only a short walk away. Alison was very helpful with check-in and check-out and the room had everything you would need for a short stay. The bed was super comfy too! Would highly recommend this place for easy access to the fremantle cafe strip and a quiet homestay aswel.
