About this listing
Lovely flat in the heart of historical Firenze (Florence), just a few steps from all the monuments, the Duomo, lots of amazing restaurants, markets and the real life of this vibrant city.
Easily accessible with public transport and car.
This is the flat where I grew up my offsprings and that I've loved all my life and still love, and which I am sure you will love too.
It is very spacious with a big lounge and dining area, a big kitchen equipped with any kitchen ware and where I often spend hours cooking meals that I will then enjoy with my children and grandchildren, either for a Sunday lunch or for a special occasion.
I am sure that who loves to cook will appreciate this kitchen at least how I do, but who will rather be out and about to try a tiny part f all the multiple restaurants of the city, will still find all the necessary for a breakfast to recharge before diving in the beauty that Firenze (Florence) has to offer.
The other side of the house (night side as said in italian) is divided in: one double bedroom and a single bedroom, (plus another one that will be closed and not accessible to guests).
In the apartment also three restrooms are available: the big one with the bath tub, just nearby the main bedroom; a shower in the laundry room; and a sink for guests in the main corridor.
The flat is very big and very quiet, with windows facing the internal gardens, even though is situated on a street that is a few minutes from all the major attractions, historical or not.
It is easy to reach the house with the car, though there is no garage on the premises neither it is possible to park on the street unless permanent residents, but there is a parking just across the road from my front door (so no stress of carrying luggage for long way), where for an hourly or daily rate you can park your car.
The flat is on the first floor and, as the majority of the historical buildings in Firenze, no lift is available, but it won't even be necessary. Only two small flights to reach my place.
This said: I hope you'll choose to stay at my place, and also if I won't be around, I will make sure to greet you or to have someone I trust greeting you and showing around the house and giving you all the infos on the neighbourhood.
See you soon!
Whole apartment excepted the one room that I will keep close.
Interaction with guests
As said, it will be me or someone I trust greeting you and giving all the infos about the flat and the neighbourhood.
So that you can enjoy a lovely stay and can make the most out of our beautiful city.
In the heart of the historical neighbourhood of San Lorenzo, once famous for its handicraftsman and their typical shops (called bottega).
Just few steps from the Central Market where you can buy food and drinks of good quality for reasonable prices which is also my favourite place for the everyday groceries.
The market has two floors: the ground floor (7am/2 pm Mon/Sat) you can find fruit, veggies, meat and much more of great quality. You could also have them packed for longer trips and bring them back home to enjoy with family and friends.
On the first floor (10am/10pm Mon/Sun) you'll find all the restaurants or cafes to enjoy delicious meals from all over Italy.
With a 5 minute walk you can reach the central station of Santa Maria Novella where trains and buses from and to any destination will start. This make it simple to enjoy a one day tour in another part of the region.
In 5 minutes (maybe 3) you can reach the Accademia and the Duomo, from which all the other streets branch off: for the National Library, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio and so on.
The flat is at 2 minute distance from the stops of the main buses lines and 5 minutes from the central station Santa Maria Novella, or can be easily reached by car (which you'll have to park in the parking across the flat).
In the same street you could also rent bicycles to reach even faster every corner of this city.
Other things to note
Please notice that with me lives a cat, that will not be there when you will be in the flat, and I will make sure that everything is clean, but who suffers from massive allergies could still notice it.
Check in, depending on check out of the previous guests and my schedule, can be flexible. So let me know at what time you will be arriving and we will plan from there.
Normal respect of any building rules so to avoid to annoy the neighbours.
It is not a party house, nor a place where to invite people that have not been included in the reservation, unless you talk before hand with us.
So please talk to us if you want to have friends or family over.
In Firenze we care about environment so please help us recycling and saving water and electricity.
Don't trash the place, it is okay to leave behind a little bag of garbage but not to leave an apartment full of garbage bags. Better if you throw out your bags (apart from paper that has a door to door collection. Thursday evening from 7:30 to 8:30pm).
Please use only wooden or plastic utensils on pots and pans so not to scratch them.
For stays over 7 days I will provide extra bed linen and towels. One change every week.
Please do not use bed linens or towels as cleaning mops. If something gets spilled used paper towel or kitchen cloths.
If something is broken or not working, please let me know. Things happen, also if it was your fault, it is not a big drama, but as long as I know I can provide change at check out.
At arrival I will need to ask to pay cash for the council fare, it is 2,5 Euros per person per night for every adult from the age of 12yo.
Some exceptions are included.
We will also need to see your documents and write down details as required by local authorities or take a picture of it (that we will delete straight after sending details).
You can have toddlers if you want, no stairs in the apartment, but I do not have a cot (ask for it in case I can borrow it from my son).
Smoking not allowed, please respect me and my guests.
I love to share my place with guests so please be respectful of this.
Treat my house as if it was yours and enjoy your stay.
Check out is at 11am, if you need to leave luggage let me know and I will work something out.
Moreover, I furnished the apartment myself over the years with antique furniture, so please take care and pay attention. Do not move around furniture.
Apart from this, treat my house as if it was yours and enjoy your stay.
I am an elder woman that loves life, enjoys having her children and grandchildren around, love cooking for them, but also going out.
I've travelled a lot and still love doing it.
I will be often away especially during the summer, so will love to rent out the apartment to travellers that want to discover the city I live in and that I love. If you are a respectful person/family and will love to stay in my house, just message me.
Have a great day you all.
