We had a lovely, relaxing stay at the cottage and would recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy beautiful scenery in a peaceful location. Maria answered all of our questions quickly and was very knowledgable about the local area. We were made to feel very welcome and our pup loved her little getaway. Overall, a very lovely stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Bleak House Cottage at the end of May. The cottage is beautiful and Maria has really thought of everything. The cottage is a real home from home with everything that you would need. Maria was a wonderful host and provided us with a lovely welcome basket when we arrived. As stated in previous reviews there was loads of really useful information in the cottage about the local area and some picturesque walks nearby. We would definitely love to return.

Maria is an amazing host! A welcome basket was there for our arrival. She checked in with us in person several times and was so friendly and helpful! There was a lot of information for the area left in the cottage (which was adorable). Overall, one of our best Airbnb experiences. We would absolutely stay again and can't recommend Maria and her cottage enough!

Very cosy cottage. In the middle of nowhere (so nice and quiet) yet within easy reach of many Peak District attractions. Few local shops in nearby villages (and their opening times are erratic) so if you're eating in make sure you stock up before arriving or when near supermarket (Waitrose in Leek is easy to get to reach). Many useful walking guides and maps in the cottage and Maria easy to contact and happy to help.

Response from Maria:
Thank you for your review, I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes, local shops are traditional shops that do not stay open late. We are always happy to organise a locally sourced food hamper. Bleak House Cottage does benefit from being away from the tourist traps, yet within easy reach of major attractions.
