Staying at Khai's place was a pleasure mostly because we like the local, residential feel of the location. It was very easy to contact Khai and he was able to check us in despite our late arrival. He also gave us our space while remaining available if we had questions about the city, cultural customs, music suggestions, and even to watch a rugby game with us :). Our room was Spartan but had all the essentials including a ceiling fan (thank goodness), complimentary soap and shampoo. We slept comfortably all 5 nights. Though I room was fine, one thing that could have made our stay better was if the rest of the house had been cleaner. Despite that I would recommend this room for those looking for local experience and basic comfort (no frills). Thanks for letting us into your home, Khai! Best!

Khai is warm and friendly. He greeted me upon arrival and showed me the ins & outs of his rental. His place is newly renovated (freshly painted walls; varnished floors; new doors; hardware; trim and baseboards etc. I rented a room in his home, with full access to kitchen, fridge, laundry, and living room with TV etc. My room came with a lockable door, for peace of mind. Khai provided me with clean fresh new bed linens and towels, as well as some new toiletries (shampoo; conditioner; soap ) He also gave me good jogging route suggestions and helped me get oriented in the neighborhood. This part of the Mid-City 'hood is safe and quiet, day and night. I enjoyed peaceful, restful sleeps nightly. I had a great trip, and Khai's hospitality and lodgings were a big part of it's success! Thanks Khai.

This place was exactly what we expected. It was fairly close to downtown and the host was incredibly accommodating. We inquired about the private room having a lock or not and our host put one on for our stay! The place was incredibly clean and worth the stay. Would highly recommend.

I'm 27 and work in community development in New Orleans. I'm trying to do some more traveling and meet people from all over the world. In the past few years I've traveled to Vietnam, Florence, and several cities in the USA.

Growing up in the USA, many people have a fear of traveling, feeling that the world is not a safe place. But my travels so far have dispelled that fear. I've met great people from tons of different countries and have been able to connect with them and have realized that regardless of where you are from, for the most part, we share many things that make us human.

These connections with locals and other travelers are what excite me about traveling, much more so than seeing sights and taking tours.

In the near future I plan on visiting Brazil for the World Cup, taking another Asia trip visiting China, Japan, and Vietnam again (I'm Vietnamese and have family there), and a trip to Europe.
