Interaction with guests
We are a sweet family of 5, two ( gay ) dads, and our 9 year old triplets (oh, and a puppy)! We are usually on the go~ with school, work, karate, soccer games/practice, and family fun. You will have the entire upstairs floor and your bedroom is well insulated and quiet, but we do have 3 kids and a pup, so if you leave the windows open, you may occasionally hear the rascals playing in the yard ;) We will give you your space, and want you to enjoy your privacy upstairs, but we are just a phone call away (or downstairs) if you need us.

If this is your first visit to LA, be prepared, it is a huge city, with very diverse communities, in very close proximity to each other. (Hollywood can be a disappointment for first timers.) There are huge estates at the top of our hill and low income housing apartments at the bottom. We feel safe in our neighborhood, we walk up and down the hill with our kids and dog, as do our neighbors, often with pups and strollers. Many of our past guests do not have cars and walked down the hill to access public transport, and they have relayed to us that they felt comfortable and safe. Some of our surrounding areas are more urban, however, so you may see graffiti, or if you head into an adjacent neighborhood like Cypress Park or downtown, you may come across a homeless person or someone asking for change... hope that make sense!
"Nobody Walks in LA..." ~Missing Persons ;)
Well, we do walk (and hike), but LA is a big city and quite spread out, so having a car sometimes makes it easier to get around. However; public transportation is decent and there are sights that are easier to access via bus or metro (because parking is scarce and expensive in some parts of town) . There is a bus stop at the bottom of our road, just 0.3 miles away and a 5 minute walk. We are 0.6 miles away from the closest metro station, a 15 minute walk down the hill. Also, uber and Lyft are great options for transport and arrival time to our home for pick up is usually under 5 minutes!
Other things to note
Your private restroom is complete, but petite, with a low ceiling, about 6'3" high in the shower. We are 5'9" and 5'10" so our heads don't touch the ceiling, however, if you are a giant ;), you may have to duck... Just something to keep in mind!
There is a microwave and mini refrigerator in the room, it does NOT have a full kitchen/stove/oven. However; if you are staying for longer than 3 days, and would like access to our kitchen, that can be arranged.
Laundry services are available.
We do have a small dog, but he stays downstairs, and is hypoallergenic (a Shih Tzu) and does not have access to your room.
Be clean and respectful.
No unregistered guests on the property.
Please follow the "campsite rule;"
