About this listing

Spacious, comfortable, vintage apartment close to all the Capitol Hill nightlife and just a few blocks from downtown. A 1-br that can turn into a large studio thanks to pocket doors. 1 queen bed and 2 spare twins means it can sleep 4 comfortably.

The space

This apartment is a hidden Capitol Hill gem and one of the few left of its kind. The neighborhood is changing rapidly with developers tearing down beautiful old buildings at a staggering pace to make room for fancy new apartments with little character.
The apartment has high ceilings, bay windows, wood floors, and pocket doors that allow the space to have either a dedicated bedroom or become a large, open studio. One bathroom with a clawfoot bathtub and shower.

Guest access

Full kitchen (refrigerator, gas stove, oven, toaster, microwave, plenty of plates/cups/utensils/napkins)

Most things you need for cooking (pots/pans, spices, cooking utensils, basic ingredients)

Internet (no tv or cable, sorry!)

Queen bed and two additional twin mattresses (each with pillows, sheets, and blankets).
Coin-op laundry in the basement (laundry detergent under my sink)

There is a parking garage for Seattle Central Community College two blocks away that costs $5 for 24 hours (an amazing deal!). It's on the corner of Pine and Harvard.

Interaction with guests

Depending on my schedule, I will either give you the key, leave it in a hiding spot, or have my friend who lives down the hall give it to you. And when I'm away you can contact this friend down the hall if you need anything.

Other things to note

My friend lives down the hall and he is willing to help out if you need anything.

There's a big apartment complex under construction on the same block and across the street. Construction starts around 730 AM on weekdays and sometimes on Saturdays. It doesn't bother most of the folks who live in my building but I use earplugs. I will provide (unused) earplugs for guests.

House Rules

Noise has never been much of an issue but please be respectful of those who live above, below, and next to me. Please don't smoke. Dogs are allowed as long as they are well-trained and won't have any accidents. I don't have a dog but my building has no policy against pets. The kitchen has no fan so if you cook make sure to open a window. Also the oven is old and there is no indicator light to show if it is on or hot so make sure to turn it off if you use it!

My stay at this apartment was good. It is very close to a cheap parking garage and easy walk to many great restaurants and bars.

My three friends and I had an excellent stay at Isaiah's apartment. We loved the area and Isaiah gave us some useful tips for great places to eat nearby. The apartment itself is nice and stocked with all the necessities. Isaiah was easy to contact even though he was not in town and his brother was great at helping us out with everything we needed during our stay.

We booked quite last minute and Isaiah responded very quickly. He gave great instructions about parking, location and how to get into the place. We had 4 people and felt it was roomy enough. We didn't spend much time in the apartment but it served it's purpose. Location is awesome. The hallways of the building smelt very strange but just walk quickly and you will be fine.

I contacted Isaiah the morning before we needed to stay in his apartment. He responded promptly within the hour (even during regular weekday work hours) which was great because we were running out of time to book a place! Checking-in was seamless. There is even a parking garage less than a block away (Seattle Central College) for $5.00 a day. The location was perfect for our needs. We were within walking distance of Pike Place Market, Downtown, the Space Needle, and SLU. The apartment complex is quite old, but his studio was very clean and simple. We needed two beds, so Isaiah offered a regular queen bed & frame in the main bedroom as well as a full size mattress that was placed on the floor in the living room. The pull-out doors worked nicely to close off the main bedroom from the rest of the studio. The sheets were freshly washed, so no concern over cleanliness, but were well-used and could stand to be replaced. As Isaiah warned, there is still a good bit of construction in progress right next to the complex, so beware of the noise factor. They get started early in the morning...even on weekends. If you plan on being out and about early each day as we were, it shouldn't be a big issue. Overall it was a great location and great value! Would recommend!

We had a great stay at Isaiah's Apt. Capital Hill is probably the best area to stay in Seattle with downtown in walking distance and some great food/nightlife around the corner. Isaiah always responded very quickly and had some great food recommondations. He couldn't be there when we arrived, which was our fault because we were later than expected, it was easy to get access to his apt. There was a very cheap carpark two blocks away if needed. Would stay there again.
