About this listing
The mill offers you a different type of holiday surrounded by boats and beautiful scenery, an ideal place for a quiet getaway. The building reflects both, its industrial heritage and the surrounding area and combines it with a modern design style. Please note we can accommodate one night stays from November till February and there are discounts for one week stays or longer stays subject to availability. Please enquire.
Please note if this room is booked up we also have another room listed on Air BnB (Cosy room in 16th century tidal mill).
The loft room is spacious and light and has two roof lights overlooking Millbrook on one side and the estuary and woodlands on the other. The room has a king size bed and ample clothes storage. We provide a small fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. There is a sofa bed which can accommodate another person or a child and there is space for a travel cot if you have a baby.
The bathroom is directly adjacent to your room and will only be used by you.
Breakfast is a help-yourself continental breakfast. We offer cereals, toast, honey and jam as well as yogurt and fruit, tea, herbal teas and coffee. We can cater for gluten free diet and vegetarians. Darren and I are both working full-time but you are welcome to sit and enjoy the views and have a leisurely breakfast in our kitchen in the mornings.
You are welcome to use our garden. If required you can wash and dry clothes for a small charge. The dining table and kitchen area can be used in the mornings during breakfast, but in the afternoon and evenings it is private. There is free parking for two cars next to the building. The room is only accessible by two flights of stairs. We can also provide secure storage if you arrive by motorbike or bicycle.
Interaction with guests
This is our home so we will be around. Darren and I work full-time and are mostly out in the day but around in the evenings if you need any help with anything at all. We are happy to recommend the best places to visit in the area, there will be something for everyone's idea of a relaxing holiday.
Other things to note
Please bring slippers with a good grip sole as we have wooden floors and there is a shoes off policy in the house.
Who can bring the most exciting slippers?
We are pretty relaxed but would like you to not smoke in the house and unfortunately cannot accommodate dogs. We are happy to have one child, but the loft is on top of the stairs so the child should be over 6 years old and be supervised at all times.
This is our home and we only ask to respect that and share it with us and other guests.

Alex is originally from Germany and has been living in the UK for the last 20 years with intervals in Scotland, Italy and the Netherlands. She likes gardening, reading, her yoga class and spending time with friends as well as going camping in the van.
Darren is very knowledgeable about the area and has lived in Devon and Cornwall all his life so he will be able to tell you everything about places to go and things to do. He is a keen sailor and trail bike rider.
We spent the last five years restoring the mill; we are now hoping to share our love for the building with others.
