i've stayed in a few airbnb's in NYC but Rachel's is the best. great space which is perfect for business (good desk, wifi etc). but the best thing about my stay was the small attentions to detail that Rachel provided, from snacks to extra linen, great instructions, always on hand to help.

Rachel was at the apartment to check me in when I arrived and immediately made me very welcome even though it was late in the evening. It's a beautiful little apartment, very well appointed and equipped. It's a 2 minute walk from the centre of the wonderful bars and restaurants on Hudson St, but in a quiet street with an imposing building entrance, a concierge-serviced lobby and a lift up to the loft apartment on the 5th floor.

Rachel is very careful with all the details. Her house is charming and very well located. The weather was unexpectedly hot during our stay, and the AC was not functioning properly. Rachel did not hesitate to install a new AC and send us a fan to make us comfortable. Issues like that may happen during an airbnb stay, but what differs a superhost is the willingness to solve them in a quickly and kind way. Rachel is a true superhost, it was a great pleasure to stay at her house and be in touch with her. Highly recommended.

Rachel's place is in the PERFECT location for a stay in NYC. Avoid the hotels around the crazy busy sections of NYC and stay in the beautiful West Village. Within walking distance of everything you could need (including citibike locations) and fabulous restaurants. Rachel's communication is great, her loft is very clean and comfortable. Do note though, not the place for you you cannot climb stairs comfortably as the bed is on a mezzanine. Cannot beat this location.

Wonderful place to stay in a very desirable neighborhood of the city! Walking distance to lots of great restaurants, bars, and nightlife with the subway only a short distance away. Very quiet neighborhood with no noise issues from the street or from neighbors entering or exiting the building. As others have mentioned, the ceiling of the loft bedroom is low and the stairs to reach it quite steep but that wasn't a major issue for us. The apartment has a lot of personality with the cool artwork on display and the two large skylights provide a lot of natural light in the mornings. Rachel was a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome. Overall a great stay!

Rachel's place is the bomb. The photos don't do it justice. It's perfectly located close to many must-visit spots in NY but on a quiet street. All amenities are within walking distance and it's close to a few subway lines for easy access to the rest of the city. The apartment has all you need for a convenient and comfortable stay, and has also been decorated in an eclectic, tasteful style. Rachel was friendly, hospitable, and went above and beyond to make me feel at home with an abundance of toiletries, a basket of snacks, a printed guide for the neighborhood, and being available immediately to answer any questions throughout my stay. The wifi was fast. It got hot in the loft sleeping area with just the one air conditioning unit below, but that might just be how it goes in NY in the summer.

If you can't say anything good don't say anything at all. My Mom's motto. Ps: ac inadequate!! Never come during summer.

Response from Rachel:
Please note my other reviews and rest assured that I am a kind, gracious + generous host with your ultimate comfort in mind. I have personally tested the temperature coming out of the AC unit at 59 degrees and the 'super fan' mode is working at full capacity. I have never had an experience in life / business like I have had with Gary. I have hosted several lovely guests over the past few summers and never had a single comment / complaint about the AC. I have also slept comfortably in the loft for years. He decided after 1 night to file a faulty claim with Airbnb to cancel his 30+ day reservation. He never tried to contact me once after checking in , where I could have given him simple instructions to turn the AC on high as well as the Dyson fan in the bedroom. Once I saw the complaint was filed I graciously offered to buy yet another fan to make he and his fiance more comfortable, to which he did not reply. There is bound to be one person in this lovely community who's conduct in simply uncalled for and frankly bizarre. I would highly recommend saving yourself the headache and hold out for any of the other millions of lovely Airbnb guests to host.
