Beautiful area

This home is in a scenic location.
Towards the tip of Coniston Water lies a charming historic cottage. Built in 1850 Middlefield Cottage has been carefully converted, retaining many of the original features. The cottage enjoys delightful views across the unspoilt Crake Valley and up towards the Coniston Fells. Lake District hot spots such as Coniston, Hawkshead & Ambleside are just a short drive away. Coniston Water is easily accessible and offers many hidden spots to picnic on the lake shore, launch a canoe or wild swim.

The space

Entrance Hall with plenty of space to kick off boots and jackets, there is also a conveniently placed toilet just off the hall.

The cosy sitting room enjoys multi fuel stove, HD TV with Free Sat HDR+ & DVD/VCR combi. This comfortable room is the perfect place to relax in after a day exploring. The sitting room also enjoys views to the garden & glimpses of the Coniston fells in the distance.

On the opposite side of the main hall is the light, bright and well-appointed dining kitchen with large dual fuel range cooker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/dryer & radio/CD player. The perfect place to cook up a storm.

Second Floor
The pine stairway leads up towards a galleried landing and two comfortable en suite bedrooms.

Bedroom 1 - double 4-poster bed, TV-DVD combi & en-suite shower room with WC and underfloor heating.
Bedroom 2 - double bed, single bed, TV-DVD combi & en-suite bathroom with shower over, WC and underfloor heating.

Outside
Beautiful open cottage garden with lawn & garden furniture. A great place to spend a lazy summers day or evening.

Neighbourhood highlights

A fantastic playground for families and outdoor enthusiasts, the Crake Valley has it all. Beacon Tarn, near Water Yeat offers explorers the chance walk and picnic or even take a quick dip. Cyclists of all abilities will revel in the trails and bridle ways that snake their way across the valley including the top rated Blawith Loop. Access to Grizedale Forest, which caters for a wide range of abilities including the famous North Face.

The Coniston Launch has various sailings to the south of the Lake, some giving interesting commentaries about the legendary Donald Campbell who raced his boat "Bluebird," on these waters, and also about the "Swallows and Amazons" adventures. The Launch stops at the Torver Jetty, also at the Lake Bank Jetty at Water Yeat, and Water Park at Nibthwaite and at the Parkamoor Jetty.

The X12 bus travels west of the Lake for those who would enjoy a car free day. However for drivers there is plenty of easy, and mostly free places to park near the Lake on both the south western and eastern shores, where there are many quiet shingle bays from which to enjoy the water. You can launch canoes and small boats, go paddle boarding or wind-boarding, Swim, or just relax in the clean, fresh air and admire the stunning views of the high fells.
