Tucked away in the canyons of the Oregon Coast Range this cozy little cabin is located three miles from two of the most impressive waterfalls. Open all year are the wonderful hiking trails at Golden and Silver Falls State Park. The road to the cabin follows the Millicoma River through farmlands, wetlands, and is county and state maintained. To reach Coos Bay, takes 30 minutes, the coast and/or sand dunes is another 15 minutes.

My husband and I loved our stay. Waking up riverside with a cool breeze coming through the window.. it was a dream! My husband loved jumping in the river to fish. Perfectly clean, everything you could need or want (hello.. claw foot tub), movies, spices, board games. We will DEFINITELY be back!

My husband and I planned to stay at Dee's house after a long hike. We were SO glad to have the cabin after a long day. The bed is unbelievably comfortable, and it was so nice to wake up to the creek behind the house in the morning. We also picked Dee's house because it is so close to Golden and Silver falls and we were not disappointed!

Wish we could have stayed more nights. What a beautiful setting! We took the trip to the Falls, and it was worth the 10 minute drive and 10 minute hike to the falls. The cabin was immaculate and every need we could think of was taken care of. We loved the location and loved the cabin. We had a very relaxing time. We just wish we could have stayed another night or two to get the full effect of this peaceful location.

A wonderful private retreat off the beaten path. Incredibly clean and impeccably decorated, this "home away from home" is so comfortable and cozy you won't want to ever leave. Close to the Falls and right on the river it was a great experience.

The Little Cabin on the River is a beautiful, tranquil, secluded spot. I would suggest being able to spend more than an overnight here because it is a drive from Coos Bay. Don't miss Golden and Silver Falls...

Response from Dee:
You and your husband Mark, were wonderful guests. I was sorry too that you did not have a chance to visit the falls, along with the old growth forest that surrounds them. With your love of photography, I know you would have brought home some incredible pictures. I am sorry that you ended up on Weyerhaeuser's Millicoma Tree Farm, which is just on the other side of the river from us. That would have definitely added to the travel time to the cabin. However, being on the tree farm is a rare opportunity, as it is all private and just being able to see the great pride they take in their forest management, is inspiring. Some incredible picture opportunities there as well. Thank you for coming and enjoy your visit to Oregon!

Dee takes care of the smallest detail right down to a great water bowl and cookies for your fur baby. The cabin is much roomier then what I had expected, incredibly clean and quaint. It gets a bit warm in the mid afternoon but it cools down nicely around 6 or so and you can open the doors and windows and it cools down quickly. It is on the river, not far from Coo's and the coast. If you are there on a Wednesday the farmers market is nice and there is a gentlemen there who sells some amazing tamales. He is easy to find because of the line. He sells out so get there early.

My husband grew up alongside this little cabin. When it came up for sale in 2010, we couldn't think of anything better than to open it to family, friends, and travelers. Our family has been a part of this wonderful valley since the 50's. Never crowded, it is a great place to kick back and relax. The weather is milder here and we don't get that cold wind or fog off the ocean. This is a rural area, but also a safe and fun place to bring your family. Ours grew up here.

We really enjoy all of the seasons here. We look forward to the summer barbecues, swimming, and just being outside. Fall is wonderful with all the trees changing colors and the salmon traveling up the river to spawn. One of the best places to see this is right in front of this little cabin. Winter brings wild mushroom picking and the rain, which raises the river and makes Golden and Silver Falls so spectacular. Fishing is one of my family's most favorite hobbies, so we live where we can do that. In Spring everything is green, the birds start to nest, and the mountain mist is beautiful.
