Our charming little studio cottage is a perfect York base . Artworks fill this unique converted carpenter’s workshop in its pretty private courtyard garden. Only a 15 min. walk or 5 min. bus ride from York Minster. Parking available on request.

The space
This little hideaway offers plenty of comfort. WiFi, wet room, double bed room and utility room downstairs, leading upstairs to a stunning, light and airy open plan sitting room and kitchen/diner.

Windows in the high beamed ceiling flood the sitting room with light, creating a relaxing space, which looks over a private walled garden from its little balcony. There's a full kitchen, plus dining table, together with Freeview and Netflix available on the large screen TV.

Outside in the private courtyard garden there is a comfy, sunny spot for breakfast or evening relaxing under the stars with a glass of wine.

The well equipped kitchen offers a fridge/freezer, microwave, induction hob and electric oven. We provide fresh milk, or plant alternative, Nespresso machine, coffee and a range of teas. Plus salt and pepper, olive oil and herbs.

Fresh linen, towels and a hairdryer is provided, plus, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel.

Our quiet road is a 15 min walk or short bus ride to York Minster and old town with its ancient walls, shops, bars, restaurants, theatres, art gallery and riverside. The train station is a 30 min walk, 20 min bus or 15 min taxi ride away.

Our quiet street is a 'no-through-road' for cars, so there is little passing traffic. Close to two parks there is an ATM, post office, newsagents, minimart and laundrette/dry cleaners a 2 minute walk away. There is also a Co-op supermarket a 7 minute walk away.

York's main district hospital and Nuffield private hospital are a 3 minute walk and Yearsley Pool, the public swimming baths is a 7 minute walk. With only a 15 - 20 minute walk in to the very centre of York's old town, you'll also pass York St John University campus on the way.

Despite its small size, York is the UK's first UNESCO City of Media Arts and offers a great many historic attractions, seasonal festivals, race meetings and a huge wealth of places to eat. From Betty's famous café and The Shambles Food Court to artisan restaurants, burger joints, bars, pub grub and fine dining.

York gets busy at the weekend and if you are staying over a FRIDAY and SATURDAY night, and have a particular restaurant in mind, do book a table in advance to avoid disappointment. Ideal for reaching Castle Howard and Fountain's Abbey, York is also a good base from which to explore Leeds, Harrogate, Hull, Scarborough and Whitby, the North York Moors and (our favourite) the Dales National Park.
