Interaction with guests
The guests can have as little or as much interaction with us as they may want or need when they are at home. We love meeting new people and hosting them, however we are also aware that many people come for business and we will respect their peace and privacy. Whatever they choose, we want our guests to feel relaxed and comfortable as if in their own home.
Our guests will have 24/7 open communication with me through the Airbnb portal messaging system. I am always quick to reply to messages.
Our home, declared a National Monument, sits in the middle of a 500 year old "Olive Tree Grove" originally planted by the Spaniards - now referred to as "El Olivar". This is a stop sight for tour buses to depict the history blended together with the most prestigious estate homes.
This green oasis, regarded as the 'breathing lung' in the city, is engulfed by many beautiful mansions from the beginning of the 20th century and holds the municipal government, the district library and two lagoons.
The park is the perfect place to laze away whether it be for an hour or for an entire day as it is a haven for not just people, but for an entire ecosystem. Today there are somewhere around 1,675 olive trees in the 57 acres of the original olive grove, as well as more than 30 species of birds that make this park their home. As you take a stroll through the park you may find professional photographers taking pictures of the birds and the trees; newlyweds having their wedding pictures taken; nannies strolling babies and toddlers; people having picnics under the trees; folks of any age walking, jogging, doing yoga, tai chi, or simply sitting on any of the many park benches; and last but not least, dog owners with their dogs.
Our home is walking distance to:
- San Isidro's business district: Swissôtel Convention Centre, banks, embassies, and shopping centers
- Many of the best rated restaurants in Lima (list of all these restaurants are available in the E-guidebook)
- Lima Golf Club, a popular place for joggers to jog around the perimeter
A short cab ride to:
- "Kennedy Park" located in the heart of Miraflores district is a trendy tourist spot surrounded by a vast array of restaurants, cafes, shops, hand crafters, artisans and street food vendors
- "Larcomar Mall" overlooking the ocean in the district of Miraflores, neighboring district of San Isidro
- The promenade called "Malecón de Larcomar" also in the district of Miraflores is the best spot to enjoy views of the Pacific Ocean
- The district of Barranco, neighboring district of Miraflores, is considered the city's most romantic and bohemian spot
Distance between our house and Jorge Chávez International Airport: 15 km/10 miles. Approximately a 30 minute ride.
It is very easy to get a taxi on the street, or calling one to come pick you up from the house (recommended option). We have made a list of reliable taxis that you can find in the guidebook that is in your room.
Other things to note
We can arrange to have a private driver who knows the way to our house very well, pick you up from the airport (or drive you there) and wait for you right outside the airport doors holding a sign with your name on it. Simply ask us and we will arrange it.
You can find a guidebook in your room with all of our recommendations on best places to eat, places to go see and things to do (as well as basic info on taxis, our contact numbers, wifi code for the house, etc).
No food or drink upstairs besides water, please.
Also, please be mindful about not staining any bedding, towels, rugs, furniture, etc as we want to keep it impeccable for all of our guests.
Born and raised in Peru, attended college in the US (North Carolina State University) and studied abroad in Cape Town, South Africa (University of Cape Town). I currently live and work in Los Angeles, California at a media agency for Apple. I have a passion for traveling and love to experience different cultures from around the world. I first discovered Airbnb while road tripping across the USA and fell in love with the whole concept. I have had great experiences as a guest and I am excited to create the same experience for travelers who will stay in our home.
