About this listing
A masterpiece 2 story bamboo house overlooking the ricefields, created by an amazing friend of us. The 100% bamboo construction brings you as close to nature as possible, being surrounded by rice field but also a big swimming pool to enjoy luxury.
The fully furnished bamboo house is a great way to spend your holiday with your family or friends or by yourself. It feels like a home!
The bungalow has its private entrance in the compound and is 2 stories high. The big open living room has a dining table and a hanging bamboo chair. The kitchen is fully equipped and the bathroom is downstairs too. The bedroom upstairs is overlooking the rice fields as well. The bed downstairs is located against the wall and overlooking the main area downstairs.
This is an open space bungalow, meaning that free airflow through the whole bungalow. There are mosquito nets in each bungalow.
Guest can make use of the shared big swimming pool and the bamboo space at the entrance of the accommodation. There is also a main kitchen as well that is from the owners, but you can make use of this as well if you would like beside using the kitchen in the bungalow itself.
Interaction with guests
Made, the owner of the compound and daughter of a beautiful Balinese couple has 2 other sisters and is very professional and dedicated to her guests. She will be your contact person during your stay at the bungalow.
The bungalow is located about 10 min walk to main shopping centre of Ubud.
Ubud is a great 'green' village where you can find the most amazing vegan / vegetarion but also good meat restaurants. If you like you can join a cooking lessons as well! Yoga and meditation is a must when you visit Ubud!
Arts and crafts are also very well known in Ubud, don't forget to visit jewelry factories, you can find very nice and unique pieces!
Ubud (actually all of Bali) has a public transport system but we won't recommend this for your travels. Best is to rent a push bike or motorbike during your stay to explore the area. Made can organize this for you.
Other things to note
The bungalows have a small free parking space for bikes and motorbikes. Cars needs to be parked on the main road.
The bungalows are accessible form the main road by walking or bike only, about 200 mtrs inside to the rice fields.
Wildlife: Bali knows a few other inhabitants other than the monkeys, which you can find at the monkey forest. You might encounter some peaceful cows eating or just walking on the side of the road. They are far from aggressive, but really act like they own the place and can cross roads at anytime which is what you want to be careful of when driving around.
The ducks are a well known inhabitant of especially this part of the island as well as they help the farmers to clean up the rice fields. You may see and hear them occasionally. Besides these friendly animals there are also frogs that you can hear at night, but you most likely don't see them.
It is also highly recommended to protect yourself from mosquitoes with some repellent. The rice fields attract mosquitos and also other insects can appear here and there, simply try not to approach them.
The bungalow is located in a family compound meaning that you will most likely meet the whole family in their daily life work and living environment. They appreciate you staying with them a lot and are always in for a chat or can give you the privacy if you request this.
Please note that after 10PM the compound is quiet, meaning that you are welcome to hang out in the swimming pool still or on your terrace, but Ubud is pretty well known for a healthy lifestyle (yoga lessons at the Yoga barn start at 7AM for example) which included going to bed early :)
