The space

This room is on the 2nd floor. It is a spacious room with a double bed. Towels are included.

Guest access

Guests have access to the entire house, except the other bedrooms. Bathroom and kitchen are shared with me and other guests.

If you want to arrive before check-in time or leave after check-out time, it's possible to leave your luggage in the house and get/keep the key.

Interaction with guests

I live in the house, but I'm a full-time student, so I won't be there all the time. I can give you recommendations about what to see or to do or where to eat and drink.

You can leave your luggage in the house before check-in or after check-out.

The neighbourhood

The house is in a quiet neighbourhood. Around the corner you can find some restaurants and bars.

There is a very nice park around the corner with typical Flemish mills with a nice vibe during summer.

There is a bakery, an ATM and a laundromat just around the corner.

Getting around

There is a busstop 200m away to the market square.
There is free parking a 5-minute walk from my house.

To get to Bruges from Brussels Airport (Zaventem), you can take the train. There is a direct one or you can get any train to Brussels first and transfer in Brussel-Zuid/Bruxelles-Midi to a train to Bruges.
From Charleroi Airport (Brussels South) the easiest way is to take the direct Flibco bus. Last on . You can also take a city bus to the trainstation and then two trains via Brussels.

Other things to note

You can use the washing machine, but I charge 3 euros.

I provide a basic WiFi connection that works well for email and communication with the home front. It also works around the city. Faster WiFi on demand.

Check In
We stayed at Jonas' flat for two nights. Check in was a breeze, and the flat is located in a really cool part of central Bruges. This room is on the top floor with narrow steep stairs; so if you have trouble with staircases, this may not be the room de you. The bathroom is on the floor below and shared with other guests. Overall, Jonas' place is a good home base to enjoy the gorgeous city of Bruges.

We did not met Jonas since he was out of town himself. Still, check-in and check-out went down smooth and without problems. From the texts, he wrote us, he seems to be a nice guy :-) The house is also nice and the room, that we had was as expected. It is situated at the other end of town compared to the train station, so it is a 30 minute walk from there, not a big problem for us, but maybe for other people. The bathroom looks very nice and has a big bathtub. What we didn't like was the amount of water, that comes out of the tap. For the sink, the stream was not even enough to brush our theet. For the shower/bathtub, a shower was possible, but not too comfortable, since there was not much water and the water was warm, but not hot enough for my taste. I also tried to work a little on my laptop in the morning and the evening, which was almost impossible due to the very slow and disruptive Wifi connection. If you have people there a lot, a nice Wifi connection would not hurt. We liked the city, we liked the house and I'm sure if we had met Jonas, we would have liked him too. The water and the wifi are two points, that bothered us a little bit, but over all its a nice place.

Response from Jonas:
My apologies for the tap in the bathroom. That was a problem and unfortunately I couldn't fix it while I was away. It is fixed now. I provide a basic WiFi connection that works well for email and communication with the home front. I provide this one because it also works around the city and most people don't need more on their holidays. Faster WiFi is available, but on demand. This information is on my Airbnb page. It is a pity you didn't communicate this to me during your stay, then I could have provided you access to the faster WiFi.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this place. This is a typical Belgian house, located in 7-10 min walking distance from the Town Hall. The neighborhood is quiet, your sleep won't be disturbed. The bedroom is clean and tidy, sheets and towels are fresh. The bed isn't too big, but still comfortable for 2 adults to sleep (~140 cm). The kitchen has all the necessities: a fridge, an oven, loads of cutlery etc. The living room is a perfect place to sit, relax and have a beer after a long day. Overall such authentic living experience is unforgettable, much more engaging than staying in a hotel in my opinion. We stayed as a couple for 3 nights.

We weren't able to meet Jonas as he was on vacation, but he left very precise and detailed instructions. The house was very clean and tidy. About 10-15 minute walk to the market. Great spot in Brugge!
