Heather is an awesome host and I can definitely recommend staying with her. She made me feel welcome right from the beginning. The evening I arrived I realized that my adapter didn‘t work but Heather helped me out so that I could use my laptop. She also gave me lots of advice when it came to travelling which I really appreciated. The room (and the whole house actually) is really beautiful and comfy. Right across the street is Newhaven Harbour. I really enjoyed the view and walks by the sea. Newhaven is a lovely part of Edinburgh and definitely worth exploring. Ocean Terminal is close by (You can visit the Royal Yacht Britannia), and Lauriston Castle, the Royal Botanic Garden and Port of Leith are not far away and worth visiting. But it’s also easy to get to the city center. There is a bus stop very close (Not even a minute from the house) which makes it really easy to explore Edinburgh. Another advantage is the Skylink 200 which drives directly from Heather’s place to Edinburgh Airport without the need of changing busses. I had a wonderful time at Heather’s place and will definitely come back. Thanks for everything!

This was my first time booking with Airbnb and I was a bit unsure of what to expect. However, I'm happy to say that it was a delight to stay with Heather and her family. Heather could not be friendlier or more welcoming! She and her husband like to get to know you and ask about your day while still giving you your privacy. Heather makes you feel right at home and is extremely helpful and accommodating. For example, when my laptop inexplicably would not connect to the Wifi (my laptop's fault, not the Wifi's), her and her husband called Virgin right away and stayed on the line for 20 minutes to fix the issue, even though it was a Friday night. I really appreciated that. The room itself is cozy, bright, well-decorated, and clean, as is the overall house. I also loved how close the house is to the waterfront and harbour. As an added bonus, the house is also home to a lovely, sweet dog! The neighbourhood is historic and charming - well worth exploring. If you want to head to the city centre, it's only about 15 minutes away by bus. All the essentials are in close proximity: a big Asda, Ocean Terminal mall, a Sainsbury's, a nice pub, a good seafood restaurant, etc. If you want to go to Lauriston Castle, Cramond Island, the Royal Botanic Garden, or Portobello Beach, they are all reasonably close and very accessible by bus or even foot. I would recommend Heather to any of my friends or family looking to come to Edinburgh, as I know they will be well taken care of. Thank you for making my stay great!

Heather is the perfect host. From the first moment I felt welcome. She, her husband and their dog are so friendly & nice that makes it so easy to start in the holidays. In the morning Heather always made me breakfast. The breakfast was really good and it was so much, that I had every day something for my trip too. The room was really lovely and their house at the harbor is just a dream. The bus stop to the city centre is directly in front of their home and a nightbus drives also,so it's no problem to visit Edinburgh without car. If you need an idea what to visit - Heather can tell you - I think she knows everything about Edinburgh. I'm really glad, that I spent my holidays by Heather. It was such a wonderful time with really good conversations. Only the best wishes for Heather and her family. If I want to visit Edinburgh again, than I want to stay by Heather again

Best host family ever! So inviting and wonderful. The house was cozy and comfortable. And their dog was so friendly and cute!! I'd stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend them to everyone. Location is great, right outside the city center but in it's own nice area. VERY easy to get back to the center if you wanted.

I would highly recommend this B & B. My hostess, Heather was extremely friendly. My room was very nice and breakfasts were delicious. I spent eighteen nights here while enjoying the sights and sounds of Edinburgh. Heather gave me tips about places to see and things to do. She went above and beyond in many ways, including a towel to dry my seat incase of rain at the Military Tattoo and a wool blanket in case I got cold (which I was VERY grateful I had, pretty windy that night). There are several bus stops very close which was perfect! And I really enjoyed being so close to the harbor, gorgeous views. Very nice place to stay and I would certainly go back.
