This was my first time booking with Airbnb and I was a bit unsure of what to expect. However, I'm happy to say that it was a delight to stay with Heather and her family.
Heather could not be friendlier or more welcoming! She and her husband like to get to know you and ask about your day while still giving you your privacy. Heather makes you feel right at home and is extremely helpful and accommodating. For example, when my laptop inexplicably would not connect to the Wifi (my laptop's fault, not the Wifi's), her and her husband called Virgin right away and stayed on the line for 20 minutes to fix the issue, even though it was a Friday night. I really appreciated that.
The room itself is cozy, bright, well-decorated, and clean, as is the overall house. I also loved how close the house is to the waterfront and harbour. As an added bonus, the house is also home to a lovely, sweet dog!
The neighbourhood is historic and charming - well worth exploring. If you want to head to the city centre, it's only about 15 minutes away by bus. All the essentials are in close proximity: a big Asda, Ocean Terminal mall, a Sainsbury's, a nice pub, a good seafood restaurant, etc. If you want to go to Lauriston Castle, Cramond Island, the Royal Botanic Garden, or Portobello Beach, they are all reasonably close and very accessible by bus or even foot.
I would recommend Heather to any of my friends or family looking to come to Edinburgh, as I know they will be well taken care of. Thank you for making my stay great!
