The Hermitage is a 2 bedroomed self contained annex. Formally used as a glove factory in the 19th Century, the Hermitage was recently renovated to provide 2 bedroomed accommodation with wet room, kitchen, dining room & lounge with multi fuel burner.

The space

The Hermitage is a beautifully coverted self contained annex with gorgeous lounge area with wood burner and open mezzanine area. There are 2 bedrooms both with double beds but both are big enough for a travel cot. Two single put you up beds are available for those with young children. The bedrooms are separated by the dining room so if you have small children it would be adivsable to have just one of the rooms.
The annex is attached to the main house but completely self contained.

Guest access

Parking for The Hermitage is on the family drive, where there is ample space and accessed through the garden, which guests are free to use.

Interaction with guests

As the main house is attached, we will be available if you have any questions.

Other things to note

Bedding will be provided but please bring your own towels.
There is a pond in the garden so little one's would need to be supervised.

This place is amazing! So much bigger than the pictures show too. It's a brilliant location-close to the beach, town and lovely walks. TJ and Adam were fantastic hosts and really friendly-offered us the use of their body/surf boards and BBQ too which made it feel really homely.

They say that Devon is the new Tuscany. The Hermitage is an absolute jewel and enhances this feel. From the warmest of welcomes from our gorgeous hosts Tj and Adam, to the glorious gardens, the immaculate newly-refurbished accommodation - which is both spacious and extremely comfortable - this was a holiday from which we did not want to return home. We were met by arrival gifts of fresh-baked scones, jam and cream and a bottle of wine, in the Italian themed kitchen. The main lounge Log-Burner is a lovely feature, easiest I have ever used. The Mezzanine provided additional lounge space. The Dining Room can take a small army. My wife, myself and our 17 year old daughter loved it all. Big screen telly and Sky plus free Wifi helped us stay in touch with the world during our stay. Washing Machine, Tumble Drier, Iron, Ironing Board and so-on all freely available. We were even lent a surfboard and body-board for the day. Nearby beaches, bike rides, RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Ferry day out to Lundy Island, all facilitated easily from this lovely accommodation. The beautiful, Rosemoor-inspired gardens also included our two new friends, the Chickens. Parking is just at the back and also the very easy to use Gas BBQ and Patio eating area got used, with some lovely fresh-caught fish that Adam (bit of an Action Man :-)) gave us for free. Above all, a beautiful night's sleep in the loveliest of bedrooms, most comfortable of beds with scrupulously clean, crisp new linens. Ample wardrobe and drawer space, too. Can't speak highly enough of our gorgeous hosts and their attentiveness. Love them forever and back!

Tj was as friendly and welcoming as we could've hoped for. We had a lovely week and the accommodation was ideal - clean, spacious and elegant. Great Torrington was an ideal base for exploring North and South Devon. But for the odd times when we weren't out and about, having Wifi was really helpful. We'd definitely recommend this property and location.
