Glandwr is a compact 3 bedroom cottage right on Aberdaron's sandy beach. Local pubs and restaurants nearby provide breakfast, lunch and dinners. Ideal seaside holiday location. Owner lives in the village and can give advice / help.

The space

Glandwr is unusual in Aberdaron for being self catering accommodation that is available for short lets of as little as 2 nights. It's location is superb, at the heart of a holiday village and right by the beach.

Guest access

The whole house is available to guests and includes a galley kitchen, bathroom including shower above a full bath, washer drier, lounge diner with wood burning stove and three bedrooms above (one double room with sea views and two rooms with a set of bunks in each.) The house has free parking included at a nearby yard.

Interaction with guests

I live in the village and I am very happy to give advice on local atractions such as the Wales Coast Path, and help with any issues that may arise with the house.

Other things to note

Please note that bed linen and towels are not included in the rental.

As a family of three this was an ideal cottage for our needs. Especially liked the log burner and being so close to the beach, we could easily spend early mornings and late nights down there. The village is great and has all you need for a short stay. Aberdaron beach is lovely and nearby Whistling Sands is superb. I would highly recommend joining the National Trust to benefit from the car parks in the area - free for members. In summary, we had a super short stay and would certainly consider returning to this cottage.

Thank you for a lovely stay! The cottage was in a perfect location, so close to the beach with everything we needed for a short stay. The cottage is small but very cleverly done wth everything we needed. Our 3 year old loved his bunk bed!!

Fabulous location and amazing views of the sea. Just across the road from the church, beach and two pubs. The beach is lovely and clean. If you don't want to venture far, Aberdaron has everything that you need e.g. beautiful beach and walks, two pubs serving food, great chippy and bakery not to mention the other eateries and Spar shop. A couple of gift shops (one selling wine and spirits if you feel the need) all in all everything that you need to unwind and relax. Of course there is lots to do and explore further a field by car if you so wish. The property has a log burner so when the weather turns chilly, I could imagine the cottage being lovely and cosy, we had no need to use it. The property has a washer\dryer. Very handy if you are out walking and get caught in the rain or as my friend discovered get soaked by the waves! The stairs in the cottage are a bit steep, but to be expected from this kind of property. The kitchen has a gas hob, electric cooker, fridge, with small freezer compartment, kettle, toaster and dishwasher. It is a small gally kitchen, so the dishwasher is a bit of luxury that really isn't required, I would prefer the extra work top space. We as party of 3 had no problem, but possibly more people and being more adventurous in the kitchen would take some juggling of items. Brilliant WiFi connection. We enjoyed our stay, some fabulous memories.

Lovely old cottage in a superb location. Sleeps 6 but it's difficult to see how 6 would live here for any period of time. I know it's a quaint old property, but the stairs are extremely steep, a nightmare with children of any age I would imagine and not easy to negotiate for anybody over 40 regardless of fitness (bear in mind bathroom is downstairs). We stayed here in mid June and the nights were cold, (stone floors), would have preferred to be able to put on some heat ourselves if we chose to, but this isn't an option and there was no starter pack of logs for the log burner. The only heat was from the heated towel rail in the bathroom. We didn't bother Peter regarding the heating, you know how it is with a British summer though - sometimes you just require a little boost of heat and sometimes you don't need it. THE COUCH, THE BEDS AND THE BEDDING WERE ALL VERY DAMP no doubt because the property is not used especially frequently. In short it's a sweet little cottage, the steep stairs are an issue (it was safer to descend backwards) in a superb spot and with just a little care and attention it would be a lovely holiday let.

The cottage is in a fantastic location, metres from the beach and amenities. It is very small but this was made clear. I would say it is fine for short stays but the kitchen area is tiny with little surface space to prepare food so this was a slight challenge. Aberdaron itself is a great location with shops and a great fish and chip shop. The Ship Inn is great for food as is the bakery. Aberdaron is a great base to explore the Llyn peninsula and it's great beaches. We would recommend the cottage for a couple but plots probably not ideal for those with older children due to the limited space. We also feel that the cottage wasn't clean enough when we arrived. Peter the owner was great with providing information and called in to see if everything was ok.

Glandwr is a really nice place to stay. Really quiet, so close to the beach and in a very pleasant village with great pubs, a superb chippy and easy access to some great coastal walks.

Peter accommodated us at very short notice (which we greatly appreciated) and we arrived after dark. What a view/location to wake up to! Instructions for arrival and check in were clear and easy to follow. We had a lovely evening meal in the Ship Hotel, which is practically next door. The space is a little tight in some rooms, which was fine as we only stayed for the weekend as a couple. We would book again! Thanks very much.
