‘Little House On Main’ is a boutique, newly refurbished & interior designed cottage situated in the very heart of Sedbergh. Nestled in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park & walking distance to everything, it has been designed by the owners, for the owners. Every detail has been considered in the refurbishment of the cottage from the Quooker tap & induction hob in the kitchen to the extra deep luxury mattresses, handmade in Yorkshire. Come and enjoy some time in this special home!

The space
‘Little House on Main’ is a cosy Victorian cottage that has just finished almost a full year refurbishment and transformation into a boutique, luxury home. Perfectly positioned in the middle of Main Street in the lovely village of Sedbergh, everything from the fabulous local pubs and eateries to the incredible butcher, grocers and florist is just a few steps away.

The main bedroom has a Superking sized bed and the second bedroom has twin beds, all with extra deep, handmade mattresses and fluffy down pillows and duvets.

The lounge is spacious with lots of seating to sink into whether you fancy watching something on the large Smart TV or enjoying a good book watching the coming and goings on Main Street.

The kitchen has been designed for those who like to cook with an induction hob, split oven, microwave and full sized dishwasher. There’s no need to look for a kettle with the Quooker tap providing instant boiling water and you will find the kitchen stocked with Riedel crystal glasses, Le Creuset mugs and Robert Welch cutlery.

In the boot room there is plenty of space to hang coats and leave shoes and boots and there’s also a new LG washing machine and tumble drier should you need them.

There’s a work station in the hallway between the bedrooms which is small but (hopefully) perfectly formed with a desk and plenty of plug sockets.

The entrance to the cottage is hidden away behind Main Street through a sun trap of a patio where you can enjoy a morning coffee or evening G&T to chat about your day. The cottage is very light, particularly with the lounge being upstairs and is spoiled with views to Winder from the front and Frostrow to the rear.

We pride ourselves on looking after our guests and so we offer a Concierge service both before and during your stay. We can help you with travel arrangements, organising groceries, booking tables in restaurants, suggesting walks and just about anything else that you can think of!

Other things to note
Little House on Main is first and foremost a much loved family home, not a holiday let. We therefore hope that our guests understand that we don’t accept stag or hen parties and that we ask that guests leave their shoes downstairs and respect our neighbours by keeping the noise to appropriate levels for the time of day.

Neighbourhood highlights

Tom Dykhoff wrote in the Guardian that, “Sedbergh is only 15 twisty-turny minutes up the steep western escarpment of the Yorkshire Dales from the M6, a little longer from Kendal, but high up, all alone in the fells, it might be halfway to the moon. Bald moors, big skies and Alfred Wainwright’s beloved Howgill Fells loom all about, and there’s not much bar sheep, the Wensleydale Creamery and the odd village or teeny town between you and the other side of the UK. Bliss. “

Sedbergh does feel like a precious, secret place where Mother Nature still reigns and is respected by all and in return she rewards with breath taking beauty all around.

We are a busy and fun loving family, living between Cascais, Sedbergh, Val d’Isere, Valletta & Windsor. Together with our 2 teenage children, we enjoy a busy life and we appreciate the beautiful homes that we are able to do that in. When we can’t be in them, we enjoy sharing them with others and we love experiencing other people’s fabulous properties. Whether you are a potential host or potential guest, we look forward to meeting you.
