Interaction with guests
We will greet you, orient you, help you settle in, and will be available to answer your questions and help you with any requests during your stay. Friendly chats are available if desired, you have access to the more private kitchen downstairs, or the shared kitchen on the main level, and helpful guidance for exploring the area. We often have community music jams or potlucks, and you might find yourself joining us if you are so inclined -- no pressure! This community currently has 14 residents who live in nearby apartments and homes on the land. There may be another guest or two, or our summer interns staying in the house at the same time. There are cats and a small dog in nearby apartments. The main level of the house is shared space by the community. We love having guests, and this would be most suitable for someone open to and curious about intentional communities in general or Anahata in particular. We also give you as much space as you like, and it's generally quiet after 9:30 pm.
Other things to note
We are a peaceful, loving community with no agenda other than connecting with nature and being kind to one another. The folks living here are are holistically oriented and creatively expressive through various forms of music and art. Most of our food/beverages are organic, we use natural cleaning products, and we live a healthy lifestyle. We often do yoga or meditate, but there is no particular 'school of thought'.
We rent to peaceful, neat/clean people who respect the space and furnishings/amenities. When we are here, we retire around 10 pm, and arise around 7 am, but you can keep your own hours as long as you are quiet between those hours. And we will likewise respect your quiet and privacy. No loud music/media. At all times, there is no smoking, no drugs, no pets, and we require careful supervision of children at all times due to the river, etc. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
