Serene room with private french doors spilling out onto 35 acres of pristine nature with river access for swimming, kayaking or fishing, and plenty of nature trails to walk. Decks overlook the river valley, spacious hot tub for enjoying starry night skies, hammocks, swings, and more. Part of a spacious lower level apartment with full bath, kitchen and living-dining area. Often you are the only guests on this level, or there may be one more set of guests or an intern or two!

The space

Comfortable queen bed with cotton sateen sheets; fully equipped kitchen, towels provided with full tub and shower. Bring your breakfast goodies and other foods to cook or reheat -- we provide gourmet organic coffee, tea, sweeteners, half n half and a bowl of organic fruits!

Guest access

Shared (or private) kitchen, river swimming, nature trails, a riverfront dance/yoga platform, beautiful natural surroundings, friendly people. A splash in the river is refreshing, a journey up to the pine ridge is inspiring, or wander about our organic gardens and permaculture landscape. We offer professional massages on site. Kayak trips can be arranged for an extra fee!

Interaction with guests

We will greet you, orient you, help you settle in, and will be available to answer your questions and help you with any requests during your stay. Friendly chats are available if desired, you have access to the more private kitchen downstairs, or the shared kitchen on the main level, and helpful guidance for exploring the area. We often have community music jams or potlucks, and you might find yourself joining us if you are so inclined -- no pressure! This community currently has 14 residents who live in nearby apartments and homes on the land. There may be another guest or two, or our summer interns staying in the house at the same time. There are cats and a small dog in nearby apartments. The main level of the house is shared space by the community. We love having guests, and this would be most suitable for someone open to and curious about intentional communities in general or Anahata in particular. We also give you as much space as you like, and it's generally quiet after 9:30 pm.

Other things to note

We are a peaceful, loving community with no agenda other than connecting with nature and being kind to one another. The folks living here are are holistically oriented and creatively expressive through various forms of music and art. Most of our food/beverages are organic, we use natural cleaning products, and we live a healthy lifestyle. We often do yoga or meditate, but there is no particular 'school of thought'.

We were simply looking for a comfy convenient DRY accommodation while attending Floyd yoga jam. What a wonderful gift we received. We arrived after dark and settled in to the starlight room under the blue hue of twinkly string lights. We woke to a serene peaceful oasis of healing, self empowerment, friendship and creativity hosted by Kathryn and Luke. The beautiful accommodations certainly delivered but it will be the connection to these wonderful people at Anahata that I plan to cherish for years to come. If a visit to Floyd is in your future do yourself some good and visit Anahata.

What a lovely home! We only stayed one night, but really enjoyed it. Great communication, clean, and coffee/tea was provided. We did not get to meet Kathryn, but hope to stay at her home again.

We enjoyed our stay very much! Very nice welcoming and our room was nice and cozy. We had private kitchen on our floor to prepare dinner so that was super nice and relaxing after long day driving. Kathryn was very helpful with directions and you do need them because it's hard to find service (at least with T-Mobile) between mountains. We were able to find their place with an ease thanks to her directions but I recommend to do your homework ahead of time and arrive before dark. Best part of our stay was relaxing outdoor hot tub while watching the stars. Loved it! Thank you for hosting us!

I think of my night at Kathryn's as more of a retreat than a stopover. Yoga, a soak in the hot tub, walking by the river, and a good nights sleep made me feel refreshed for the rest of my trip. Everyone there is friendly and helpful. Definitely stop if you want some R&R for your trip!
