The pod is located on the grounds of our working croft, but it has its own private parking space and dedicated outdoor area. It is carefully positioned so it is not overlooked by our home, which sits a short distance away — giving you both privacy and peace during your stay.
For your convenience, a secure lockbox provides flexible self check-in, allowing you to arrive anytime after the official check-in time. Whether you’re catching a late ferry or finishing a long hike, you can settle in at your own pace.
Other things to note
We provided some food for your fist morning and to help you but please remember that our Pod is Self-catering and we are in a stunning but remote location. So we recommend stocking up provisions on your way.
You will find 3 Co-op supermarkets on your way ( 2 only if you come from Armadale ferry) : Kyle of Lochalsh, Broadford and Portree. Close by ( 15 min driving from the croft ) you will also find 2 small shop ( Rankins ) in Uig and (Community shop) in Staffin . You will also find fuel stations if needed at the same location/town named.
We have several wonderful bars/restaurants nearby Ferry Inn ( amazing Cocktails) and Uig hotel at Uig (15 min driving) , Floddigarry hotel ( 10 min driving) , Monkstad house (10min driving) which we recommend to be booked in advance. You will find their contacts in the Pod
Note : is not possible to arrange online deliveries
Also, be aware, the Pod is on a 10 acres working croft and we have a flock of sheep. With the wish to fit a maximum in the landscapes, the Pod doesn’t have a fenced area (except the carpark to protect the car from the sheep) and the sheep and lambs are wandering around freely on the croft (or depending the time of the year, could be out on common crazing). The entrance gate of the Croft requires to be physically open/close when entering/exiting the property by car and must be kept closed at all other times to keep our sheep in and the sheep of other farmers out
During the lambing period of April/ May, my partner and I could come close to the pod if ewe giving birth need help.
If after lambing we have Pet lambs it will be possible to help feeding them.
Please just check with us before feeding the sheep.
We have one dog, Willow, very friendly, She will be about on the Croft but always with us. Unfortunately no other dogs are allowed on the croft/Pod.
• Note The croft is also the home of a small Business @Sand & Skye using our wool to create a variety of accessories and home goods.
