About this listing
OCEANFRONT… There is nothing like it. To me, it means being directly on the shoreline with nothing between you and the sensation of the ocean. Totally different from Ocean View.
I rent starting the first of the month till the end of the month, or longer. Once you pay the monthly rate, you have the option of using the property for as many, or as few days as you would like during that calendar month. You have total flexibility with your arrival dates and departure dates, as long as the dates fall within that particular calendar month.
If you would like to bridge (2) months, you would have to pay for both months and have the luxury of arriving and leaving on your schedule.. Please check in the rates section for pricing.
Beginning with the Month of May, rates are so inexpensive, they are a third of seasonal rates so its a great value!

Other things to note
Key West attracts everyone from the super-rich, to everyday people, all come here for the same reason, to escape troubles and worries of everyday life and end enjoy a laid back, worry free tropical life style. You will have a hard time figuring out who is who as everyone dresses casually and has a relaxed island vibe. Bring your shorts, sandals and sun tan lotion, leave your cell phones and business attire at home.
As for fun things to do, I will suggest you rent a moped, electric car or bicycle. These are all great ways to explore the island. Put your car in the garage, you probably won’t need it. Beach cruiser bicycles can be rented for a very nominal fee and dropped off at the resort. To the right of the resort is Berg Nature Preserve and Bird Sanctuary; to the left is Smathers Beach, Key West's longest beach.
The island is packed with activities for everyone. If you are the active type, there are jet skiing tours around the island, Eco kayak tours through the mangroves, or ocean kayak, catamaran snorkeling trips, parasailing, wave boarding, paddle boarding, glass bottom boats, and glass bottom kayaks. Key West is especially known for its world class diving and fishing. There are many famous dive wrecks including the Atocha which is an active treasure excavation. For a small fee the company allows you to try your luck at treasure hunting.
It seems that nearly every other weekend Key west has a special event, some of the more famous events are the Power Boat Races, International Sailing Events, Conch Republic Celebration, Bed Races, Song Writers Festival, Survivors Party, Green Mother Pageant, Fantasy Fest, Lobster Fest, Goombay Festivals, October Beer Fest, Hemingway’s Festival, Stone Crab Fest, New Year’s Eve Celebration, and many more.
Sunsets in Key West are some of the most beautiful in the world, and are treated with celebration. Gather along Malory Square before sunset. Marvel at the sword swallower, fire eaters, tightrope walkers, trained cat shows, and straight jacket escapes, these acts and many more are a nightly main stay along the pier at sunset. Board a Schooner and sip tropical rum drinks as you watch the colorful sunsets. After sunset, enjoy a mojito and tapas while taking in a local outdoor Latin band. After a couple of drinks I am sure you will be out on the dance floor dancing the salsa with everyone else. “Why not, you are on vacation”.
Key West is also a famous cruise destination, so if you like to shop, Key West will not disappoint. Duval Street offers every type of shopping imaginable from high end jewelry, clothing, art works, collectables, oddities, and a whole variety of souvenirs. Most shops are open till late in the evening so there is no rush. Expect to meet resident as well as famous artist displaying creating works, visit Mel Fishers treasure museum, visit Key Wests Key Lime Pie Factory (as featured on the hit show “The Profit” ) enjoy creations such as Key Lime Pie on a stick.
Expect to find many unusual shops, filled with one of kind items. Watch as old Cuban expats hand rolls a cigar for you. Sample Conch fritters, stop for a gelatin, listen to street musicians playing violin wearing gorilla costumes, watch as drummers play mesmerizing rhythms on five gallon buckets, have your picture taken with a parrot, pet the pooch which wears sunglasses and bow tie. Take in a drag show, or party all night at Sloppy Joes.
When it comes to dinning out, the variety in Key West is endless. Enjoy a Seafood Tower for 2 or 4 at A&Bs loaded with crab, oysters, key west shrimp, clams on the half shell, smoked dips, scallops and sauces other delectable treats from the local waters, (I have never been able to finish one). Dine out doors under the hammock trees and listen to folk music at Blue Heaven, enjoy upscale Brazilian Steak house, or Brick Oven Pizzas. For a night cap, enjoy an exotic Chocolate Martini at Better than Sex. For breakfast stop over by Hemingway’s house to the 7 Toed Cat.
