The space

This property was designed to remind you of living in a mountain lookout, like the ones that used to dot the mountain tops on the surrounding peaks. The living room view gazes unobstructed toward Nason Ridge, which Harvey Manning dubbed "the finest ridge walk in the Cascades", which includes Rock Mountain, Mt. Howard & Mt. Mastiff. Looking south Big Jim peaks out from the Enchantments with stunning views. This is a 22-acre private estate, you see no other houses or noisy neighbors. You are free to roam the grounds, ride mountain bikes, lounge on the terrace and listen to your favorite music, while someone barbeques dinner!! Explore the area, you will find wild flowers, mushrooms, too many birds to count and over 1000 feet of Nason Creek waterfront to wade, swim or cool off the dogs! This isn't a five star hotel, I think it's better, but it is a natural place where you can encounter coyotes, black bears, cougars, deer and we have even sighted wolves on two occasions. So be prepared for a sophisticated mountain adventure with adventures abounding!

Guest access

Guest have access to the main house. The Owner, will be staying in the detached shop with mother in-law loft above with his dogs. The house, terrace and outdoor entertainment areas are for guests and owner respects your privacy.

Interaction with guests

I will usually be on site in the detached shop/loft building, which is separated from the main house and allows both occupants privacy. I will gladly offer local information and hiking, biking, or kayaking tips to those that inquire.

The neighbourhood

There are so many adventures waiting for you in the Cascades, Lake Wenatchee kayaking or sail boarding, fishing for lunker Brown Trout in Fish Lake, floating down the Wenatchee on a lazy summer day!! Trail access to the Alpine Lakes Wilderness is just a short drive away. In winter make this place your base camp to ski Stevens Pass powder downhill or enjoy the Nordic Center for a great cross country experience. Return from a day on the slopes and enjoy a bonfire in the outdoor entertainment area, conditions permitting! From the doorstep, you can mountain bike for miles to the top of Round Mountain and beyond.

Getting around

We can arrange a taxi from Leavenworth or a limo for the wine tour. There are shuttle services available. Will update this section soon!

Other things to note

The last half mile to the house is on a maintained, private, gravel road. Four-wheel drive is not required but in summer months the road is quite dusty.

This is a great place for (2) families with kids. Generous open main living area. Heated stone floors were great for kids and dogs alike. Easy drive to Stevens or Leavenworth and great sledding and xc skiing at the end of the driveway. Kitchen is well equipped and a pleasure to cook in.

This place is amazing. Way better than what is shown on the pictures (that look great, so go figure...). We went in winter, so lots and lots of snow. In some places we were like swimming in snow. We had a lot of fun. The views, the amazing nature all around us, the surroundings, the silence, the house architecture, the incredible attention to details, and of course Bill's hospitality. If you are planning a trip to Washington's wilderness, you must check this place out.

This is the perfect venue for a festive yet relaxing family retreat. We celebrated Christmas with our adult kids and really enjoyed the beautiful chalet home and scenic surroundings. Thank you Bill!

Bill's stay was exceptional! My family and I booked this for Christmas. Although my car couldn't make it up his driveway, he came out and helped us unload. The pictures online don't do justice because the place was MUCH larger than appeared. We had everything we needed to cook. Beautiful cabin, amazing stay, highly recommended.

You will not regret your stay. It was everything we could've asked for and more. The view was perfect and our host offered so much insight to things to do and enjoy nearby. The pictures do not do this place justice! We will be back as soon as we can!

Four of us stayed here over the weekend; everyone felt very welcome. The Nason Ridge Retreat is relaxing, spacious and comfortable. Owner is very responsive and nice. I hope to stay again in the future. Didn't want to leave :)

I'm a mountain bachelor living in the eye of Mother Nature everyday! I love to hike and explore the alpine in my backyard. I share the 22-acre park I created with three very friendly dogs. I've recently decided to let others enjoy this special place and help you plan a new adventure with an awesome "base camp" just miles from Leavenworth!
