The neighbourhood

Even though we are located very conveniently to Osaka, Nara, Kobe and Kyoto, we are surrounded by peace and quiet on the hillside of Mt.Ikoma. You can enjoy a pleasant walk through the neighbourhood down to the station.

Getting around

It takes about 20 mins by foot up a steep slope from the nearest train station (Kintetsu Ikoma Station) to our place. We recommend you catch a taxi from the station which should take 7 mins/800 yen to get here.

- To Osaka Namba (Kitchen tool market, Kuromon-ichiba local market, Dotonbori river etc) about 20 mins by train
- To Nara Deer Park (Big Buddha, Kasuga Taisha Shrine, Naramachi etc) 20 mins by Kintetsu line
- To Kyoto or Kobe 60 mins by Kintetsu line

Other things to note

We have 2 furry friends here. One is Bruce the Beagle and the other is Pumpkin the Yorkshire terrier. Both are very friendly dogs and Bruce will probably bring his rope and ask you to play as soon as he finds you. (You can ignore them if they get too excited)

Our stay with Sachiyo could not have been more perfect Everything was wonderful - our room was large beautiful and the futon beds heated soft and so comfortable Our breakfast in the tea room of painted screens and hand carved panels was a work of art each day- beautiful and delicious And as for the private wooden onsen style bath big enough for 6-- my husband and I luxuriated in it after our days adventure with its view of the Japanese garden We were made so welcome and given lots of valuable hints about places to visit off the beaten track-- Ikoma is worth a visit in its own right as well as being very convenient for Osaka, Kyoto , and Nara. The whole stay was nothing short of perfect -- thank you Sachiyo and Justin for a really wonderful stay We felt sad to leave after our 4 days --- We will be back
