Bed Stuy: beautiful and historic. This is not an upscale neighborhood, though there are a few very nice areas. It is historically poor and many who live here occupy Housing Authority buildings. However, it is rich in culture, full of kind people and dangerous very rarely (more info on this from me, common sense is your friend). You will be immersed in a wave of immigration and (devisively) gentrification that is transforming Brooklyn, especially Bed Stuy and neighboring Bushwick neighborhoods.
less than a block from Broadway, where there are buses. Short walk from A and C trains.
Be responsible, clean up all of your messes and provide for yourself. Everyone wants to have fun and be close and responsibility is a necessity.
