We had a lovely weekend. The property is so magical. Karin is a wonderful host. Thank you, Donnelly, for all those hugs. Thank you, Dalulu, for claiming me :)! We look forward to our next visit.

Response from Karin:
Mindy and Jaz were wonderful guests. Spending time with pleasant, open minded, worldly people like them is energizing and uplifting for me as a host. Cannot wait till they come back another time so we can continue our interesting conversations - and maybe also continue the horse and dog whispering classes. Thank you for your warm words in your review as well as in my private guestbook and for teaching me the interpretation of the word "business" written in Chinese sign language. Love to learn such details about the old Asian cultures.

Up a scenic drive you climb until you reach the end of the road, literally, and your destination. Karin greets you with a welcoming smile and a hug. The atmosphere is more like a visit to a friend's home you haven't seen in a while than a paid stay. She brings you into her home, gets you settled and shows you around. The spacious home overlooks stunning 360 degree views from the many windows and balconies. Although the home is large, it is warm, inviting and flooded with light. Outside of the living/kitchen area is a courtyard patio with a beautiful pool. Karin tells us she personally picked every stone that went into the construction of the pool and waterfall. In fact, her attention to detail and design is apparent in every aspect of the home, right down to the tree house located on the hill just beyond the patio. She tells you to be at home except for the kitchen, she says with a smile. That's hers. And rightly so. The meals that come out of it are wonderful. After a leisurely breakfast at the 14 foot dining table, you can enjoy views of her majestic horses roaming freely against the most breathtaking backdrops of the rolling hills and lake beyond. Serene music plays throughout the house and there are many books if you want to sit back and relax or enjoy a conversation with your lovely hostess. From the room delivered coffee in the morning until the final heartfelt goodbye, you will feel like an honored guest.

Response from Karin:
I get all emotional receiving such warm words. I am in love with my little slice of paradise and it is such a wonderful feeling to share it with people like you who so much appreciate the serene unspoiled nature and the atmosphere. We have the word "Hygge" in Danish that went viral last year - and that is what I try to create in the house - not only through decoration, but also in the way we interact with each other. Look forward to having your visit another time.

It was really a fascinating experience this weekend. Though it was only one day, we really enjoy the lifestyle Karin taught us, especially through the horsemanship, as well as the gorgeous view and delicious food. Thank you Karin, for leaving a wonderful memory for us!

Highly recommend - especially if you are interested in animals and communicating with them, or simply how we unknowingly affect the world and others around us with our actions. You'll come away a better person!

There aren't enough positive words to describe our stay at Danehill. Karin really makes you feel at home the moment you arrive. My boyfriend and I wanted a nice weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary, and what we had was one of our most memorable experiences together. The ambiance at Danehill is absolutely perfect from the stunning views to the unbelievably gorgeous house. Plus, you are surrounded by fantastic animals and the beautiful Karin herself. If you stay here, you should undoubtedly partake in Karin's signature dinner. Her food is amazing, but the best part is sitting in a warm fire lit room with a tall ceiling, eating with new friends and making pleasant conversation. We took horsemanship lessons with Karin on Sunday and truly enjoyed being amongst such impressive and smart animals. If you are like me and you are slightly nervous around horses, Karin's knowledge and handling of them will immediately put you at ease. The house is very close to Tomales Bay Oyster Co. and Hog Island Oyster Co. which was one main draw for us and we had a lovely lunch there. The photos do not do this place justice. It will take your breath away. If you are looking for a place to stay, look no more. Danehill is where you want to be.

Response from Karin:
Nikke and her lovely boyfriend were amazing guests who were wonderful to spend time with.Introducing them both to the almost magic relationships with the horses that is based on an understanding of the world seen from these flight and prey animals' point of view was very especially dear to me. I simply LOVE the feeling and he aha moments my guests get when they can control the animals through an assertive kind and sim[;e way of communicating. Look forward to welcoming them another time.

From the moment my girlfriend and I arrived, Karin was remarkable. My words cannot due justice to the beauty of the house or the property. Waking up to a fog covered reservoir with Horses grazing in the distance was magical. But, it wasn't just the house, property, and animals that made this Air BnB incredible, it was Karin. She treated us as if we are family and bestowed upon us years of wisdom and guidance that I will take with me forever. I cannot wait to come back as one weekend was not enough.

Response from Karin:
I am deeply touched by your kind words, Stu and Faye. Also your words in my personal guestbook filled me with happiness. Thank you. It was lovely to spend time with you and Faye. I so enjoy hosting people that share the beauty and serenity of Danehill's peaceful and magical atmosphere from early morning till late evening- no matter what kind of weather, and even more so to share my discoveries and simple life lessons and wisdom achieved by living so close to nature with my herd of horses and dogs. They in fact are my teachers/mentors in their own simple way of communicating - and it is enjoyable for me to point out the subtleties in their way of communicating with each other - a language older than words - and how we can learn from that. You picked it up so quickly and got a glimpse of that way of being. When I feel that AHA moment in my guests it fills me with joy to have given you tools to become happy content people. Look forward to your visit another time. Karin
