The house is the quintessential Bohinj experience. It is unique and there is no other place quite like it for sharing/renting in all Bohinj.

Rustic-house 13 Suite A (Suite B is a different listing) consists of two bedrooms, balcony and bathroom.

The space

We live on the ground floor. Accommodation for guests are on the second and third floors. We have our own entrance door and so do the guests.

The suite on offer consists of two areas.

One bedroom is quite large with a king-sized bed, living area with a 40" LCD TV and balcony.

The second bedroom is smaller and has two single beds.

There is approximately 50 square meters (540 sq feet) of space.

The private bathroom is separate from the two bedrooms.

The suite is suitable for 2, 3, or 4 persons.

Guest access

The suite can be booked as a double room in which case the smaller room will become unavailable.

For 3 or 4 persons the smaller room is offered with the large room.

It is not possible to have just the smaller room and it is also not possible to have a third person in the larger room.

Room has private balcony but there is also a shared large common balcony with great views of the village and mountains.

Wifi is available free in every room.

There is a common kitchen and lounge room which are full of character with photography as a central theme.

The kitchen is available as a dining area for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A microwave oven is available to heat pre-made meals.

It is not possible to cook in the kitchen and we feel that many guests do not wish to enter the house with heavy cooking smells.

There are many inexpensive restaurants nearby serving delicious Slovene food.

The common room is spacious and surrounded by beautiful photographs.

There is only one other guest accommodation (Rustic-house 13 suite B, which is a separate listing).

Interaction with guests

Guest will see us (Australian/Slovene family) as often as they want.

After school or during school holidays our children and children from the village will be regularly running around the place.

The wife after her day job is quite often poking about in the backyard. And I am almost always at home if guests need anything.

Other things to note

The original house is over 200 years old.

It was first renovated between 2001 and 2008, and again in 2015.

I kept calling Andy's place The Gingerbread House, because that's what it feels like - a fairytale. An impossibly pretty house in an impossibly pretty village. Very spacious room with a beautiful balcony view and some rather special mood lighting - ask Andy when you arrive! A lovely walk in any direction, just pick a mountain and amble towards it. But worth noting, if you don't have a car, you must be prepared to walk around 45 mins to the lake, but it is a lovely scenic route along the river. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, there's a riding centre opposite with Icelandic ponies and a very friendly fluffy kitten that I almost stole. The only tiny thing we missed was a lack of wardrobe to hang clothes. We would love to come back!

Andy and his lovely family were the perfect hosts, we can't recommend enough! Andy gave us lots of tips and suggestions about the local area as well as answering any questions we had. The house is charming and comfortable and has a well equipped kitchen. The village of Studor is beautiful as is the rest of the area, we will definitely return

Rustic house 13 is a hidden gem, but one well worth discovering. Our hosts Andy and Tina were very generous and went out of their way to welcome us and make our stay comfortable - offering to drop us in the village and providing a superb breakfast each morning. The accommodation is spotlessly clean, beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and is situated in the lovely rural village of Studor. Our room at the top of the house was quiet, comfortable and spacious. I spent a full hour taking pictures of the flowers and decorative touches in their beautiful garden. The view from our balcony over Mount Studor was amazing and at the end of the day we sat on the balcony and picked out constellations from the Milky Way! It's a wonderful, quiet retreat which is also close enough to allow you to enjoy Lake Bohnij and all that the valley has to offer. Andy provided lots of tips about things to do in the area and was a wonderfully relaxed host. I can't recommend this place highly enough - it's excellent value for money and was the highlight of our trip. I'd love to come back to do one of Andy's photography tours!

Andy and family were great hosts, really welcoming on arrival and gave us tips on places to visit and see. The room was beautiful, comfortable, well equipped and clean and an amazing view from the balcony. Breakfast spread was great with fresh bread every morning, and kitchen had everything you need to cook in the evening. Such a great location with stunning lake Bohinj not far away and easy walking distance to a some really nice restaurants. All in all an excellent holiday in an idyllic spot, and we hope to return!

We had a perfect stay at Andy's place! He is a very friendly, easy going and super helpful host, able to provide lots of information on the area and activities. Through extensive renovation he kept the charm of an old farmhouse alive but brought in newest technology (lighting system, flatscreen, ...) to ensure a most convenient stay. Traveling as a couple we had the large room only, which features plenty of space and a private balcony. Common areas including a spacious kitchen, a living room with lots of nice photography and additional balcony were spotless and in perfect condition. The area is great and June was a perfect time to travel - still before high season. Though there are bus connections to the village a car is very helpful to get around.

We just spent a fabulous 4 nights here. The location is perfect for day trips in many direction or just enjoying the quaint town and lake of Bohinj. We had the top floor of the house which consisted of our spacious bedroom which included an area with sofa and tv and beautiful balcony with mountain views, our kids bedroom (they are 13 and 15) and our own bathroom with shower. Lots of space and beautifully decorated. There is a breakfast room on the 2nd floor that is stocked with milk, juice, coffee, cereal and wonderful fresh bread and/or pastries. Our hosts were quite personable and had helpful travel suggestions.

Everything about Hisa 13 was absolutely amazing. The house is located in the most beautiful little village that works perfect as home base. The apartment itself was spacious, clean, well equipped with the sweetest little decorative details. Andy and his wife were so kind and thoughtful. They provided us with great recommendations. Our only regret with Andy's Airbnb is that we couldn't stay longer. This Airbnb and the area were for sure the highlight of our trip. Skip Lake Bled and head straight here.
