The Haliburton room has a "Nature" decor, comes with a good quality double bed mattress, a dresser, and a closet. The bed is centered on the wall, so you can access it from either side. All bedding, and towels are included. In addition, there is a window A/C for your convenience.
Please make yourself at home and enjoy the outdoor spaces. Wrap-around covered Verandah, Covered back porch, or Back deck. In addition, the family room with Netflicks is yours to enjoy as well. Full use of the kitchen and it's amenities are available, including the use of laundry room.
Interaction with guests
I have a home office, so I will be available, my door is always open! Just ask.
Mary's restaurant in town has a very reasonable breakfast and lunch menu, and their Chinese food is quite acceptable. If local home-style cooking is not to your liking, we are 30 minutes to Kemptville where you will find the bigger stores and restaurants. 30 minutes south to Morrisburg and the 401, and 40 minutes to downtown Ottawa. Merrickville and Perth are quaint historical villages about 1 hour west of us, and a nice way to spend a pleasant afternoon shopping and dining.
As a rural community we do not have public transportation, so car is a must. However, we are within walking distance to a 24 hour grocery store, eat-in and take-out restaurants that will deliver. The Winchester District Memorial Hospital is close by as is the local arena and pool. I also have two bikes for your use. Winchester is prolific with walkers!
No pets, no smoking, no extra guests, and no parties.
I live here with my daughter Kate, who is a Forestry Technician and is away during the summer months fighting fire.
We rent out 2 rooms here in Winchester, Ontario year round! A beautiful rural farming community on the outskirts of Ottawa (if you don't like cows and tractors taking up the streets this may not be the place for you!). We hope you enjoy your stay.
