Our Shepherds hut was built as a labour of love and is set in a leafy secluded spot in our 2 acre garden. Surrounding you is blissful green complete with pond and your own personal fire pit, with our sleepy campsite nearby. The space has a delightful kitchen/living area and super comfy double bed. There is electric light and heating, and the space is stocked with kitchen essentials, bedding and household items. The new toilet and shower block is just a a short walk away.

The space
The caravan has a kitchen/living area with double bed. There is also a small padded bench seat which can double up as a bed for a child, and a garden table and chair set for outdoor use.

You also have access to a fire pit where you can light a fire and enjoy cooking marshmallows which we will provide free of charge - as long as your find your own roasting stick! We can provide a full wheelbarrow of wood for £9.00.

There is a brand new toilet and shower block a short walk away.

Guest access
Glamping is let on a self catering basis. Guest have access to a gorgeous garden and grounds. As well as lots of great local produce available in the area, we have our own veg garden and you can buy seasonal vegetables and home-made jams and chutneys from our fruit trees. And, if you book ahead we may be able to sort out a loaf or two of Andy’s delicious homemade bread!

Other things to note
Firewood for the fire pit is also available to buy.

Smoking is not allowed in the caravan.

Dogs are welcome, although we do ask that they are not left unattended in the caravan.

Neighbourhood highlights

Little Oak is in the heart of Nottinghamshire and Robin Hood Country. In the immediate area there is so much to see and do! Little Oak Camping is surrounded by beautiful countryside for you to explore. For foodies, there is a great gastro-pub within an easy walk, and a cheap and cheerful alternative for when you are in the mood to save some pennies. And you are in easy walking distance (1.5m / 3km) to Retford , a charming Nottinghamshire market town with its many independent shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and canal!

Sherwood Forest, Walks, & Adventures
There are lovely walks around the campsite. And Sherwood Forest is just 20 minutes away by car. There you can wander among the trees, or view the forest from up high with Go Ape! For something a little different you can go see Ice Age rock art at Creswell Crags. For the more adventurous walkers, the peak district is just over an hour away.

City Lovers
City lovers will be spoilt for choice with great road and rail access to Lincoln, York , Sheffield, Nottingham, Doncaster, and Leeds. Lincoln is stunning with its beautiful Cathedral and Castle which contains a copy of the Magna Carta. York is a beautiful historic town, suitable for young and old with family attractions like the Viking Centre, York Dungeons, Railway Museum and the Chocolate Story. Sheffield has some beautiful gardens and an excellent art gallery. Nottingham is an hours drive away and there are caves under the city!

Castles & Stately Homes
If you love history then there are 3 castles to visit (Lincoln, Bolsover, Conisbrough) and wonderful stately homes and parks to roam (Newstead Abbey, Rufford Abbey, Hardwick Hall). Chatsworth is just over an hour away if you want to see where the BBC Pride and Prejudice was filmed or more recently The Duchess played by Keira Knightley.

Easy going couple who have moved from the hustle and bustle of London to the beautiful countryside of Nottinghamshire to be near aging parents. Liza is an Alexander Technique Teacher (For those of you who don't know about it its an alternative therapy- http://www.alexander-technique.uk.com/) and Andy is a geography, archaeology and environmental studies teacher. We have both traveled extensively. Andy was a tour guide in Africa for a bit and most recently we spent a year travelling round Asia and South America. Having done so much travelling and looked after lots of people when they are travelling we hope we have the right experience to make your stay special.
