Springwild is a three-acre property at the end of Boyer Ln, which is a short 5 minutes from the plaza and 30 minutes from the Taos ski Valley. The Casita has a small kitchen, large artistic bathroom with radiant heat, and a sleeping and dining area. Springwild is the perfect place to relax and unwind with a great view of the mountains, a variety of outdoor seating, and a wonderful vegetable and herb garden.

The space

Springwild is a 3 acre homestead surrounded by open fields that roll to the Rio Fernando and it's red willows, thousands of migratory birds and mountain views that will take your breath away. The colors at the end of the day and the views of the incredible Sangre de Cristos at sunrise are what brings artists to Taos. Springwild Casita is perfect for a couples getaway, or for an artist or writer looking for peace and quiet.
The Casita was built by artist, sculptor, architect, landscape artist, philosopher, gardener, dietitian, cook, poet and steward..... Malcolm Brown. He described life at SpringWild as an experiment in transition to a world of peace, happiness and fulfillment for all. Following his architectural style, we added on a bathroom with beautiful mosaic tiled shower and sink, and radiant heat. The main room consists of a queen size bed, dinning table and a comfy chair for reading. There is a small kitchen with a gas two burner stove. There is also a toster oven. We provide farm fresh eggs from our chickens, coffee, tea and half and half. During the summer enjoy fresh vegetables and herbs from our organic garden, just a few steps from your casita. The property also has a main house which can sleep up to 10 guests if you are looking for a bigger space to share with family and friends. You will love this enchanted place.
You are 5 minutes from town where there are lots of art galleries, shops, grocery stores and restaurants, and 30 minutes from the Taos Ski Valley. Close by is river rafting, hiking, hot air ballooning and a links golf course. Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort and Spa is 45 minutes away. Abiquiu, where Georgia O'Keeffe lived and Plaza Blanca, where she painted, is an hour and fifteen minutes from Taos.

Guest access

On the day of your arrival we will contact you to confirm your arrival time, as to ensure that we are home to welcome you and show you around the property.

Interaction with guests

Upon arrival we will get you acquainted with the Casita as well as the rest of the property. In the summer we have an organic vegetable and herb garden that you are welcome to enjoy. We will also supply you with farm fresh eggs from our chickens. Right outside the Casita is a sitting area with a barbaque, for your use. There is also a two person hammock on the property for your use.

We loved staying at Dan and Diane's little Casita. We were travelling from LA to Austin and it was the best place we stayed at - beautifully and personally decorated in an incredibly peaceful spot but well situated to explore Taos and the surrounding area. Diane was so helpful and generous - she provided us with fresh eggs, goats cheese and jam she made herself and gave us loads of suggestions of things to do and places to eat. She even helped us out with some laundry. The casita is the perfect place to stay as a couple but they also have a very original house next door with 4 double beds where I would definitely stay if I was coming with friends. If I was ever in Taos again I would absolutely stay here. Thanks Dan and Diane!

Dan and Diane were great hosts! A little difficult to find the casita, but their directions are great and they are very good about answering their phones and were able to guide us in the right direction! They greeted us with fresh goats cheese and raspberry jam and really made us feel at home! Such a unique space that perfectly embodies the Taos vibe. I'd happily stay here again if and when I return :) thank you!

If I were relating this review in person, it would be with a huge smile on my face and in a voice laden with delight. Diane and Dan could not have been more welcoming, the casita more charming, or the views more stunning. One of the best lodging experiences, AirBnB or otherwise, I've ever had. Thanks, guys!

We stayed at Dan & Diane's for our wedding weekend in Taos. The property was so beautiful, and they were kind and generous hosts.

When we opened the door to this delightful casita, I said, "Oh, my!" The little table was set up with welcoming treats, ready for us to enjoy a glass of wine while we explored the property. Words fail to do this place justice. Unique, playful, welcoming... all apply. Friendly hosts greeted us as we pulled in, inviting us to do just that, explore. We were out in the country, but we were only a five minute drive from the heart of Taos. When we return to the area, we will definitely stay here.

I spend most of my time outside. Fresh air, beautiful views, creating our Farm. I love music, playing music with people, the groove. I like doing things for people and with people, community. I love garden to table meals, fresh eggs, warm bread in the morning. I like movies but not television. I like to work with wood.Ride bikes, I like to hike Wheeler Peak. I come from a large Irish Catholic Family, 6 siblings, I married my High School sweet heart and have left the Bay Area for the slower pace of Taos. I ski, kayak, backpack, fish, Life is Good.........
