Description

The space

Tremedda Farm is set off the road with fabulous views of the Atlantic. The Top House is one of the two cottages that made up the farmhouse and, dating from 1500s, is full of character .... open fire, teaks floors, grand piano. Despite its age the house is spacious and light.

There is an AGA in the kitchen for all your cooking and to keep the house cosy!

We have extensive gardens ... perfect for children to explore and with plenty of different spaces to sit and relax.

Guest access

The whole of the Top House is yours for your stay. The gardens are shared but as they are large and there lots of different areas you will always be able to find a private spot.

Interaction with guests

I live across the garden and we are always around for recommendations on place to visit / eat etc or to provide milk, eggs or ice cream from the farm.

The neighbourhood

Tremedda is on the field path to Zennor where you will find a good pub, cafe and Zennor Church - home to the Mermaid of Zennor Chair which gave our ice cream its name! Couple of miles further on is the Gurnard's Head Pub ... very popular and cosy pub with a strong reputation for its food.

Getting around

There is a local bus service to St Ives and Penzance. Also numerous taxi firms based in St Ives.

Other things to note

Tremedda Farm has been in our family since the early 1900. It is still a working dairy farm but we now also have moved into making ice cream - Moomaid of Zennor - which you are more than welcome to try!

In July and August and at Easter, we have a minimum booking of 7 nights.

The cottage is self catering but we do have a B&B on the farm as well. In July and August this has a minimum booking of 2 nights.

The Coastal Cottage is as described in the Airbnb site. Part of an old farmhouse with a lot of character. Clean, with roomy bedrooms, and well-functioning kitchen and bathroom facilities. The cottage served us well as a base for exploring the Land's End peninsula. Easy drive into St. Ives if that's your objective. Minor issues are that if the weather is cool, all the rooms except the one with the AGA can get chilly, and the sofas are pretty much worn out and not very comfortable. Also, we had hoped to be able to walk directly to the Coastal Path from the farm, but the intervening land can be quite boggy according to Sarah.

The house was very cosy with both an aga and a fire place, close to the coastal footpath and a lovely local pub. A great long weekend thank-you!

Zennor is wild, rugged, remote and totally romantic and we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at the cottage on the farm. Just a few short miles along a bendy coastal road from beautiful St. Ives and a glorious sunset drive winding along the highway down to Lands End - the location is totally perfect. The cottage provides an authentic experience from a bygone era... no wifi, no phone reception and a lovely feeling of being cut off completely from modern life. The nearby Gurnard's Head is a fine place to have dinner and a pint or two - and Sarah was kind enough to book us a table on the night we arrived and she brought round some fresh milk for us to be able to make a cup of tea - straight from the famous Moomaid of Zennor cows! The warming cough of the aga creates a comforting glow throughout the cottage, and a perfect place to warm socks and relax after a day battling the elements on the coastline.

We really felt away from it all just an hour away from home, lovely walks, learning to cook on an Aga and a spectacular thunderstorm! Cottage was warm, comfortable and welcoming. Would stay again.

We loved our stay at the cottage in the middle of nowhere on the coast. It is brimming with character and charm, whilst being nicely decorated and appointed. Lovely china sets, homely aga, pretty bedroom and bathroom, and a good shower. The bedroom looks onto a pretty garden, as an inner sanctum of the working ice cream farm. The photos don't do it justice. We enjoyed not having phone reception or wifi and played games. We recommend the nearby Gurnards Head pub which serves delicious cuisine. Be sure to book a table. It's a good base to explore the north and South Coast from.

Myself and my 3 kids had such a lovely stay at the cottage, we all would have liked to stay longer. We booked very last minute and arrived at the farm late in the evening but our host Sarah, was very accommodating. I loved the aga and kids loved the animals (especially a very cute puppy!) and playing with the children on the farm. The cottage is only a short drive to both St Ives and Carbis Bay. We would love to stay again....

An extremely wonderful place, beautiful, beds and bath are very comforting. Breakfast is on another level. The views and the location are fantastic. I am so glad I had the fortune if being able to stay here.
