Welcome to our comfortable and welcoming home. I live with my partner Anna and our cat Bear just a 15 minute walk along the river into town. Free on street parking, sunny back yard and all the usual mod cons.

The space

The room has been recently decorated and the bed is really comfortable. We provide fresh linen, towels and toileteries.

The living area is open plan and has a very relaxed feel to it. Very large sofas, large tv (with Netflix), and (some would say) a crazy amount of boardgames should you be up for a challenge! The french doors open into a sunny south facing yard. Feel free to hang out inside or out while you are staying.

The kitchen has a large range cooker, about 4 different devices to make coffee, and most of the other normal gadgets. The only thing missing is a microwave. You can store food and cook as much as you like.

There is free wifi throughout the house

Guest access

You will have access to the living area, kitchen, garden, bathroom and your bedroom.

Interaction with guests

When we are around we like meeting new people and would more than likely be up for a chat and a glass of wine. We will be more than happy to point you in the direction of the best local hangouts, restaurants and tourist attractions as well as provide information on things to do outside of the city. Equally, if you wish to be left alone, that's absolutely fine.

Other things to note

Our cat, 'The Bear' is very friendly. If you love cats there is a reasonable chance that he will come and check out how comfy your lap is at some point, but if you would prefer that he doesn't he just needs to be told politely!

We had a lovely stay with Andy, Anna and Bear. The house is quietly tucked away from the centre, but it's only around 15 minutes walk away if you fancy a bite to eat. They were very welcoming hosts for the short time that we were there, but we'd happily return again :-)

Great location and host so supportive, just like staying with a friend. A sort walk into York or to the bus stop for an even shorter bus ride into town, it’s a great base for exploring the sights of the city

We had a lovely time. Unfortunately, I couldn't interact with Andy but had a long chat with Anna about art, life and films we like etc. The house is tastefully done and reflects their artistic appreciations, Anna being an artist. We even got a sneak peek at her meticulous work in progress papercut artwork. Our room was cosy and comfortable. Lots of books to read and a tower of games stacked in the living room. 'Bear' the cat was always around to welcome us after a long day :). It's a 20-minute walk from the station along the waters. Overall a delightful & comfortable stay.

Andy and Anna's place it absolutely fab. We loved the stylish interior decor, the coffee machine and of course meeting The Bear. The house is well-positioned, 15 minutes walk down the river to the town centre, and on a quiet residential street. Andy gave us some good tips for restaurants, and guests can borrow tickets for the Minster which was a bonus. Great weekend, and we'll definitely be back!

We had a lovely stay at Andy's place. Was really close to town and a lush walk along the river. We spent most of our time in the room getting ready for the Wedding but there was a nice open feel to the house and breakfast options in the kitchen! Myself and my partner did find the bed a bit awkward but that's mainly my paranoia of breaking the bed! It's a bit creaky and felt unstable although it probably sounds a lot worse than it is! A lovely airy room not too hot and lots a space for two women to get ready so that's a big thumbs up! Lovely stay in york

Andy & Anna's place was just what we were looking for. It was as described, clean, the bed was very comfortable, and we had access to the kitchen if and when required. Bear the cat was the perfect host. Anna was most helpful in providing directions and other info about York. We would definitely recommend staying here. Thanks Andy, Anna & Bear.

So much better than a B&B. A very lovely relaxed stay whilst returning my daughter to York uni. Great position just 2 mins walk from the river and a 20 min walk to the city centre. Taxi from the centre only £7. I thoroughly enjoyed my first Airbnb.
