About this listing
The Bothy is a secret hideaway, a mile from the centre of Lymington, close to the sea wall. Stunning views over the sea and nature reserves - bird lovers paradise. Recently refurbished, this tiny, pretty cottage has a private heated swimming pool during summer months.
Dating back 300 years, the Bothy was tastefully extended in June 2015 and now offers contemporary accommodation for 4 guests in a large kingsize bedroom and a twin bedroom. Large open plan living area which opens directly onto private garden and exclusive use of heated swimming pool. The pool is open from the first May Bank Holiday weekend until the end of September.
Beautiful white linen, hand towels, bath towel, bath robes and beach towels are provided.
Parking for 2 cars is available outside the front entrance which shares a driveway with Normandy Cottage and the Barn. There is an outside dining area with teak furniture and sun shade, perfect for catching the afternoon sun.
Interaction with guests
If you would like to order a Waitrose delivery to arrive at 11am on the day of your arrival, this will be unpacked and stored on your behalf.
The Bothy is situated in the beautiful Lymington and Keyhaven Nature Reserve. It is very quiet and peaceful with lovely walks direct from The Bothy. Lymington High Street is walking distance and has a lively market on Saturdays.
There is a good choice of pubs and restaurants within walking distance.
To arrive by train, you will need to change at Brockenhurst and get the "Lymington Flyer" to Lymington Town Station. From there, it is a 30 minute walk or a 5 minute taxi ride.
Other things to note
Guests can enjoy lovely walks along the coastal path direct from the Bothy. Walks in the New Forest are within a 10 minute drive. Several pubs are within walking distance. The surrounding nature reserves are perfect for bird watching.
Wifi is available but it is not very fast. Ok for emails but too slow for streaming. Mobile phone signal is poor too so you can really escape from reality!
We expect our guests to love staying at the Bothy and hope you will return time and time again.
Due to the intrinsic nature of the swimming pool and it not being fenced in, we regret that the Bothy is not suitable for children between the ages of 5 months and 8 years. The insurance stipulates that children must be supervised and an adult has to be in attendance at all times.
No pets allowed.
Smoking outside only.
Minimum of 3 days booking.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund, including service fees.
I've lived in Lymington for nearly 20 years and love being near the sea. The New Forest is beautiful and has many breathtaking walks. I look forward to sharing our favourite places, walks, activities, restaurants and pubs with you.
