We really enjoyed our stay with Lana! She has a beautiful home and the room was very comfortable. Lana has a lot of good information to offer us and we had a really easy time getting from the house to downtown & wineries by car and bike.

Our stay at Lana's place was fantastic. We stayed there a whole week and didn't realise when a week completed. My son, he will always miss Lana. He loves her so much. Lana is an adorable person. She has lots of knowledge, and she shared her knowledge and experience with us which was very useful to us. The house was clean and room was comfortable. I would recommend staying at Lana's place.

Lana was very helpful in providing us with information about Kelowna. We learned a lot from her in the short time we stayed with her. The location was very convenient for us. It was a very good experience staying at Lana`s house.

We had a pleasant time during our stay in Lana's house. Lana is such a nice lady. She made us feel like staying with a long time friend, instead of just a host. She pleasantly offered suggestions for us to dine and enjoy wine testing at this lovely town. We felt very comfortable the whole time there, would definitely recommend to those looking to visit Kelowna.

My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights. A week prior we attempted contact. Finally the day before we called as we had not heard back from Lana. Upon arrival, at 3 pm we were told the bedroom was not available until 4 pm as beds were not made yet. We were shown the room and that was the last contact we had with Lana that day, until later in the evening when I had to wake her up (she was resting on the couch in living room) to get the wifi code. We were not orientated to the common areas. We shared a bathroom with a lodger, that left his clothing in the bathroom, on the floor. The room itself was cozy, however, has not been cleaned under the beds for quite sometime judging by the dust and dead bugs. The wheels on the bed did not lock, therefore, I had to keep readjusting the bed as it would move. Although the description states guests are able to use kitchen area, living area and deck, none of these areas were shown or mentioned upon arrival. We did not feel very welcomed, in fact we felt as though our room was our only area to be in as contact with Lana was limited, as most of the time she was in the living room. We would not recommend this place in future, or stay here again. This is our first Airbnb trip.

I was surprised and sorry to read your review. I feel I must explain and question some of the issues. Beginning with your check in time. Check in time is 4 PM. You arrived at three. I had seven beds to change and two bedroom suite and two separate bedrooms, two bathrooms to turn around that day. Early check-in is usually not a problem if the rooms are ready. Example yesterday, a group of people checked in at 9 AMinstead of the 4 PM. But I only have one bed to change for them. As for not interacting with you, every time I went by your room your door was shut. It is not my practice to knock on doors and disrupt my guess unless I deem necessary. I realize that you were here to visit your father, and you were out quite a bit, I assume visiting your father. I do apologize for not giving you the Internet accessbut I was not sleeping in my living room I was resting watching TV in my TV/family room. The entire living room it's open for you to enjoy what time sure I had told you. I certainly don't mind you sharing my family room either. I can hardly be responsible for my guest leaving his clothes on the floor. I do check periodically and obviously missed that one. Your room sometimes does have the bathroom privately it depends on whether the second roomis booked and this time it was the same person who left the clothes on the floor. I apologize for that that would not be present to walk into. I am sorry that you found this your first experience with Airbnb so unsatisfactory. More so I am sorry that you found your experience staying with me so disappointing

Booking the room last minute was easy and affordable. Host is very nice and communication was good. The room was exactly as seen in the ad. Didn't notice no tv in room, no lock on door, and was disappointed air conditioning was turned off at night making little room with two people very hot. But all in all good place to crash if you just need a place to sleep.

Response from Lana:
Melinda, I am sorry that you didn't mention the air conditioning. When I leave it on low all night the guests in the lower level say it's too cold. I will try to find a happy medium. No one has asked for a TV but I will certainly look into getting one in there.

I am happy to begin my 3rd year of hosting families from around the world. I am retired, very well travelled. I love meeting people and hearing of their lives.

I'm fortunate to live in the heart of wine country with vineyards, wine tasting, excellent restaurants about every 50 feet, or so it seems...

"They" suggest to tell your life motto. Simply put, Do unto others as you would have do unto you", or, as Ellen says "Be kind to one another".
