About this listing
Comfortable and characterful room in a quiet part of the town with the seafront a two-minute walk away, and close to parks, town and the harbour for trips to the Scilly Isles. Exclusive use of bathroom, and use of family living areas. Check-in time is flexible, and by arrangement.
The twin room is ideally suited to two friends travelling together with two very comfortable beds and ample room for clothes and travel bags. Breakfast is set out for you to help yourself in the morning, and will usually include eggs and fruit as well as cereals and toast.
Guests will have exclusive use of their own bathroom.
Interaction with guests
I'm friendly but not pushy so it's up to my guests really, how much they want to chat, or not. I'm happy to answer questions and suggest things to do and see.
It's a quiet area with lovely neighbours, and close to the seafront, parks and a five minute walk from town.
Close to train and bus stations, and the harbour for trips on the Scillonian to the Isles of Scilly. There is usually ample parking nearby, if coming by car. The main bus/train station is a 15 minute walk away or the 1/1a bus will bring you to a bus stop (the Alexandra Inn), 2 minutes walk from the house. Alternatively a taxi ride from the station should take no longer than five minutes to get here.
Car rental is available from Europcar at the station in Penzance. The bus service is good, and I can give you a bus timetable and suggest routes. The tourist information office is next to Europcar and is open between 10 and 5 Monday to Friday, although these hours do seem to vary!
Other things to note
I have two tabby cats who are friendly but respectful! So regretfully, I can't accept dogs.
We want you to feel at home, but please only smoke outside.
When I was younger I travelled widely and had lots of adventures! Now, I still love to travel but in the past few years I have less time to spend a long period in a country, so I've been getting to know Europe and my own country a little better. I also love living here in the far west of Cornwall - it's a magical place - and I love my home and sharing it with people. Friends tell me that staying here is a mixture of simplicity and luxury, which is what I look for in a place myself so that's a real compliment! My children are grown up - my son lives nearby with his partner and their daughter (in the picture with me!), and my daughter lives in London. They both like to travel too.
